Get $25 OFF a purchase of $100 or more on Costco.ca when you pay with Masterpass

Hi Everyone!

I hope everybody is ready to celebrate fall with friends and family!  We are having our big dinner tomorrow to accommodate everyone’s hectic schedule.

I just wanted to let everybody know about a great Costco Promotion on their Costco.ca site.  Costco.ca has partnered with Masterpass and is offering $25 off your first purchase over $100 when you pay with Masterpass.  Masterpass is run by Mastercard and looks to be like an online wallet, where you can add all of your credit cards (VISA, Mastercard, JCB, Discover, AMEX) and choose to pay with any one when you checkout.  In my case, I added my VISA card to pay.  Remember the price of shipping is included in all of its online items (including large furniture items)!

The official details on the promotion can be found here:  https://www.costco.ca/masterpass.html

One great deal would be to purchase Nellie’s Bulk Laundry Soda.  It will be going on sale between October 16 and October 29 according to the Costco Connection Magazine.  This laundry detergent is not available in stores, and has received great reviews from my friends.  The large 16.5kg bucket (which should go on sale for $20 off) will last up to to 1,100 loads, Scent Free, Super concentrated, Hypo-allergenic, HE certified, Front loader compatible.  My friends with babies have been using it on their cloth diapers with no problems. 🙂  Since the laundry soap is under the $100 threshold, you will need to purchase a filler item to get the total above $100.  The cheapest item I could find was: Prismacolor Verithin Coloured Art Pencils but you could also get something more useful like Duracell C and D Batteries

Another option is to purchase this 25kg barrel of BERNARD Canada Grade A Dark, Robust Taste Maple Syrup for $239.99 (plus $25 off)

Just to test, I tried to order the new Apple TV 4K  ($219.99 vs $229.99 on Apple.ca) and it displayed the $25 discount upon checkout.

  1. Great tip! I just bought the Nellie’s, I was running low. I realized that the last time I bought it was Sept 2014!! 3+ years for one tub of laundry soap is fine by me!

  2. Anyone able to see if this stacks with the current Discount on the Vitamix S30 (it shouldn’t)? If it does I may sign up for Masterpass thing to get an extra $25 off.

  3. I signed up for masterpass to take advantage of the $25 off a wheel purchase and when I went to check out, it transferred me to the capital one page but it would not accept my login info. Then I tried to sign back into my masterpass account and it said my account was not available. I received the confirmation email, so I knew that I had an account set up. After spending half the morning trying to get back in, I called the 1-888 number to delete my account and she told me it was frozen and would have to go to tech support and they would deal with it in a couple days. What a hassle. Not worth the $25 I would have saved on my wheel purchases. I will purchase them for full price. I’m just wondering if anyone else has had a problem?

    • Hi Heather,

I did some research and it looks like other people are having problems checking out. It’s Masterpass problem.
Call costco.ca, most of reps already know about this issue and you will get $25 credit.

      • Hi there,
just as an FYI as a potential work around – when I initially tried to check-out my order using my laptop web browser, I experienced the same issue. After repeated attempts, I switched to my iPhone.. and for whatever reason, that worked. Perhaps changing web browsers would help..

      • How will he get the credit when if the order went through, the payment was $25 higher than if it worked. I was redirected to Capital 1 as well.

    • i also wanted to sign up for masterpass ,to get 25 dollars off for steel rims .Went through the process and like you received e mail confirmation but also account not available.
I called the 1800 number and they told me that i registered masterpass as a usa subscriber ,was told better to delete account and reapply as a canadian subscriber.
Have not done so yet still a little leary about it

      • I just used it successfully this morning. I did have one weird thing the first time I went to check out with masterpass, the costco website asked for the CVV code on the back of the card. I ended up, pushing the order again to the final screen, and tried pay again. This time it worked, and I did not have to enter in the CVV!
