  1. You know what drives me nuts??? What about a deal for those of us who have been loyal Costco members for many years? Nooo the price for our renewal got jacked up instead. It seems to me that all the big companies get you as a customer and then decide to increase costs etc to the people who are already loyal to them and give the deals to get new customers and forget us oldies. Rant done

    • Totally agree! The executive membership gives us 2% cash back and some exclusive coupons…but to be honest, I didn’t think the coupons were all that great. I love Costco but they aren’t rewarding their loyal customers 🙁

    • I think Costco increased the membership price in general for All Members. I agreed with you on Companies or Large Corporations taking advantage of “Loyal Consumers” who are too comfy to shop around thinking they won’t leave; while Recruiting “New Ones” giving them Heaps of Benefits forgetting that we’re the #Ones# that Increase the Market Shares!! I’ve been with Rogers for Cellular since 2004 (beginning lots of great benefits & rewards) last few years service A-Awful, Price Increase, Benefits for New Signups, etc!! I start talking on the Rogers forum there were many concern consumers, etc…, etc..
Did you know “Costco” is on Facebook and Twitter? Try re-posting your concern on FB and/or Twitter by adding Costco profile & sharing it?!! This will catch their attention & get someone to smarten up

  2. It’s for new sign ups but I’ve had people say you can just use a different family member as the main person. Haven’t tried it so don’t know.

  3. This may sound dumb but what if you already have a membership and you want to downgrade? We have the executive one. Would we be able to use this?

    • Unless it’s been expired for over a year, no, unfortunately. It states in bold print “Valid for new Costco memberships and memberships that have been expired for more than 12 months.”

    • Hi You need to read “Membership Conditions & Regulations” on Costco.ca website, it states that anytime you are Not satisfied with your membership you can get a Full Refund, etc.. Also read “Terms&Conditions” You most likely won’t receive 2% reward back BUT do you care if you can cancelled and re-signed up?!! I am sure Costco followed the Canadian Gov’t Law by keeping “Us Consumers” happy
