Here is another recall warning. Even though some readers may have not bought one of these laptops from Costco, they may have a Toshiba Laptop Computer for work or home that may be affected by this recall.
Costco Canada is recalling certain Toshiba laptop computer models purchased between June 2011 and December 2015 in Canada. The original Panasonic lithium – ion battery packs for certain models of this product are part of an expanded recall from March 30, 2016. Affected Toshiba models include: Portégé, Satellite, Satellite Pro and Tecra laptops. The affected battery packs of this expanded recall were also sold as accessories and used as replacement parts for laptops under warranty during the above – mentioned time period.
Costco does keep track of each member’s purchases and does attempt to contact members who may have purchased the recalled product through an automated phone system. This is a good time to go to the membership desk to make sure they have the correct contact information for you (especially if you have moved or changed phone numbers since you have originally purchased your membership).
Did you know that Costco lists all product recalls on its website Costco.ca (under Product Notices on the bottom menu) and in-store? In the stores I have visited, the product recall list is on a bulletin board usually near the exit of the store by employees checking receipts.
Costco has also posted a bulletin available here: http://www.costco.ca/wcsstore/CostcoCABCCatalogAssetStore/Attachment/recalls/English-Toshiba-Panasonic-Battery-Expansion.pdf

Thanks for the info – sounds like this situation applies only to customers who are returning items purchased by another member. I don’t believe there is a change to the regular return policy.
