Juicy and flavorful!
Please note that this review was not paid for or sponsored by any third party. I purchased this product with my own money and the opinions in this review are strictly my own. I am not affiliated with Costco or any of its suppliers. I am just a fan of the company. I write these reviews to help my fellow shoppers.
Costco always has a ton of new food products I review to see more of my reviews follow me on Instagram or Facebook and also check out my blog Costcuisine where I review tons of Costco food products each week! Last week I posted a review for the Costco Layla Baklava (if you like Baklava check this out) and Costco Kirkland Signature Prosecco (perfect to make a delicious mimosa).
I absolutely love a good burger and in the summer my husband and I usually barbecue burgers once per week but we rarely have them in the winter. My go-to burgers to barbecue have been the Costco Kirkland Signature Lean Sirloin Beef Burgers but these The Keg Prime Rib Beef Burgers may have changed that!
Cost
Twelve 6 oz burgers cost $18.99 Canadian (not on sale). Not the cheapest burgers you can buy but they’re pretty large and taste pretty high quality!
Convenience
These are already seasoned so they’re a super convenient, easy dinner but you do still have to cook them! You just have to grill them and add your favorite toppings. You can choose to pan fry, broil, or grill the burgers. If you’re grilling them they take about 6 to 7 minutes per side. I use this instant read thermometer to make sure my meat is always cooked! The burgers come frozen and in a plastic bag in the box.
Nutrition
Beef burgers aren’t the healthiest, especially if they’re store bought and not homemade. Each burger is 490 calories, 41 grams of fat, 660 mg of sodium, 26 grams of protein, two grams of carbohydrates and zero grams of fibre. The ingredient list is beef, water, flavour, salt, spice, spice extract and canola oil. If you’re on the Keto diet these have lots of fat, protein and little carbs!
Taste
After barbecuing the burgers following the package directions and taking a first bite the first thing pointed out by the four of us who were eating them was that the burgers were quite soft and very juicy. They didn’t have that hard, charred exterior that most burgers I eat get after being grilled. We attributed this to the prime rib. The burgers were seasoned well and had a ton of flavor, we didn’t add any additional seasoning or barbecue sauce, just cheese because what’s a burger without cheese? I have nothing bad to say about the taste of these burgers and would happily eat them again.
If you’re looking for a nicely seasoned, soft, juicy burger to quickly throw on the grill this winter or pan fry you may want to try these The Keg Steakhouse Prime Rib Beef Burgers from Costco.

What are your favorite burgers to buy from Costco?
Tasteless, lots of fat. Will not buy again!
These burgers have transfat in them which was banned in 2018 and no stores are supposed to be selling products with transfat after 2020…
Trans fats naturally occur in cows and sheep. It is illegal in Canada to add trans fats by way of PHO’s (partially hydrogenated oils). It’s not illegal to sell any food with trans fats only those with them added. Hope this helps.
I had the 8oz version of this burger today. I cooked it perfectly, it was not burned, it was juicy… but it was tasteless. Also, the meat was textured like it had 25% or more heart meat in it.
We had these burgers for the first time last weekend and absolutely loved them!! Our 9 year old grandson thought these were the best burgers he had ever eaten and ended up eating 3 of them. Our granddaughter is the pickiest eater and even she had 1.5 burgers.
I was very impressed that these burgers DO NOT shrink or very little shrinkage, they actually had a beef taste instead of cardboard or sawdust taste like most prepared burgers have. I will only be buying these burgers from now on, I do not care of the price as long as everyone enjoys them and eats them to me its well worth spending the money.
It really good taste, juicy, my daughter loves it.
Thanks for the reviews. I enjoy getting a heads up to try a product especially if like you we normally purchase the same type product at Costco. Also, who doesn’t like the Keg?
Happy to hear their out of restaurant products are good and tasty.
Thanks for the Keg Burger patty heads up!
I will pick it up next Tuesday after I check the Cocowest blog. I’ll let you know how our family likes them.
