One of my favorite summer treats!
To see more of my Costco food reviews follow me on Instagram or Facebook and also check out my blog Costcuisine where I review tons of Costco food products each week! Last week I posted a review for the Costco Soft & Chewy Granola Bars, Costco Nutrl Vodka Beverages!
Summer is fast approaching so I figured I’d review one of my favorite summer-time treats to buy from Costco. The Costco Nestle Oreo Ice Cream Sandwiches! These were one of my favorite treats to have as a kid and my husband absolutely loves that we bought these.
Cost
Costco carries a big box of 16 individually wrapped, decent sized (135 ml) Oreo ice cream sandwiches for $15.99 Canadian (regular price). About a dollar per sandwich which isn’t very cheap but it is way cheaper than you’d pay for these at the local grocery or convenience store.
Convenience
These are not exactly easy to eat, the soft, fudgy, brownie-like cookie tends to stick to your hands and mouth so you definitely need a napkin or two when eating these. Kids probably need about 3-4 napkins and a good hand wash if they eat these at all like I did when I was a kid. They’re great for a summer BBQ, picnic or random treat and each sandwich is individually wrapped. The sandwiches need to be kept in the freezer and the best before date is about seven months from the date I purchased the sandwiches.
Nutrition
Okay, not healthy but tasty and maybe not as bad as you’d think calorie, fat and sugar wise! There’s 260 calories, eight grams of fat, 240 mg of sodium, 43 mg of carbohydrates, 23 grams of sugar, four grams of protein and one gram of fibre in each sandwich. The ingredients list is also full of unhealthy ingredients but we all need a treat every now and then.
Taste
These are my husband’s favorite! If you’ve never had an Oreo ice cream sandwich and like Oreo cookies I bet you’ll enjoy these. There’s a sweet, creamy, soft vanilla ice cream with crushed Oreo cookie bits mixed into it. The ice cream is sandwiched between two soft, almost brownie-like cookies so they’re not hard like the actual Oreo cookies, more cake-like. The ice cream reminds me of a slightly creamier Oreo blizzard. As I type this. my husband is telling me to give them a high rating because he likes them that much. If you’re an ice cream cake fan but don’t want to buy an entire cake to enjoy yourself these are a great substitute for mini individual ice cream cakes!
I would definitely buy these again as a treat for ourselves or if we were having a BBQ or kids over. It’s easy to grab one out of the freezer on a hot day and they’re really decadent and delicious.

What’s your favorite frozen dessert to buy from Costco for the summer?
No where on the box will you find the words “Ice Cream” because they don’t contain the basic raw ingredients to be legally called that. Not that real ice cream is healthier in any way, but just be aware what you are ingesting is more chemicals than “ingredients”. A look in the ice cream aisle and you will see them called “frozen desserts”, “frozen treats”, “ice desserts” but not actually ice cream.
I bought these for us too! On sale last week. I cut them in half and share with my 3 year old
Bought these a couple of days ago they are so good. Between my son and I they are half gone already.
Just bought these for my kids. On sale now $11.99- $4 off
