Scoiattolo Ravioli Goat Cheese and Caramelized Onion Review

Last week on the blog I reviewed the Costco Greenhouse Ginger Defence, Costco Kirkland Signature Lobster Bisque and the Costco Krusteaz Cinnamon Swirl Cake & Muffin Mix

If you like my reviews for Costco food products, the best thing is that you can follow me on Instagram or Facebook and tell your friends about my blog Costcuisine, where I review new Costco food products each week! You can also check out my YouTube channel, where I do video reviews!

I thought this goat cheese & caramelized onion ravioli looked a bit interesting so decided to try it and review it here! The two-pack costs $14.99 Canadian which isn’t nearly as cheap as dry pasta but isn’t totally overpriced for fresh pasta.

This is really easy to whip up, you just boil the pasta for three to four minutes and can serve it with simply some olive oil. I wanted to get a true sense of how the ravioli tastes so I just served it with olive oil. The ravioli needs to be kept refrigerated and the best-before-date is about a month after I purchased it.

In 1 and 1/2 cups of ravioli there are 540 calories, 20 grams of fat, 72 grams of carbohydrates, six grams of fibre, 21 grams of sugar, 15 grams of protein and 1020 milligrams of sodium. I’m glad I read the nutrition facts after I ate the ravioli. That’s a ton of calories, fat, carbs and sodium and not that much protein.

This ravioli is pretty tasty, there’s a definite sweetest coming from the caramelized onion that pairs well with the goat cheese. I think there’s just the right amount of filling and the ravioli isn’t too doughy. The flavor isn’t too strong but despite that I don’t know if I’d want to eat a huge plate of this for dinner, I kind of see it as more of an appetizer. Overall I think the flavor is unique and tasty and wouldn’t hesitate to eat it again.

Cost: 7/10

Convenience: 9/10

Nutrition: 2/10

Taste: 7/10

  1. I tried them as well. I made them in a pesto cream sauce and added shrimp. So it was a meal. I thought they were quite tasty.

I found them a little delicate, so boil gently to avoid them breaking open.
