Last week on the blog I reviewed the Costco Kirkland Signature Holiday Stollen, the Costco Moritz Icy Squares, the Costco Galerie Au Chocolat Milk Chocolate Cookie Butter Cups and the Costco The Silver Crane Cookie Co. Winter Festive Houses Speculoos House Cookies.

I used to always have peanut brittle around the holidays but for whatever reason I haven’t had it for many years so when I saw this at Costco I wanted to try it. The 454 gram bag costs $13.49 Canadian.
The bag is resealable which helps keep the brittle fresh and the best before date is about 14 months from when I purchased it. This would be great to serve over the holidays in a candy dish or just have to snack on if you’re a peanut brittle fanatic.
In three pieces of brittle there are 180 calories, 13 grams of fat, 15 grams of carbohydrates, one gram of fibre, 13 grams of sugar, three grams of protein and 140 milligrams of sodium. The ingredients list is really short with peanuts, sugar and butter being the main ingredients. This is gluten-free.
The first thing I noticed is that this tasted less peanuty than I expected! There are real peanuts in it but it’s not super peanuty, you get more of the buttery-caramel flavor that’s sweet and rich. The texture is really hard so be careful with your teeth! The brittle is pretty sweet but not over-the-top sweet. I think if you like peanut brittle, you’ll enjoy.
