Last week on the blog I reviewed the Costco Edward Marc Chocolatier Coconut Almonds and the El Monterey Beef & Bean Burritos.

I’ve seen these cupcakes at Costco in the bakery section for the past few months and have always been curious about how they taste so I picked up a tray to try. The tray has 24 cupcakes in it and the tray costs $14.99 Canadian.
The best before date listed on the tray of cupcakes is about a week and a half from when I picked them up. I’m sure they can frozen without any issue if they’re not going to be consumed by the best before date. These are nut free cupcakes which means they’re school safe so they’d be great for a year end school party of birthday.
In one cupcake there are 220 calories, 11 grams of fat, 28 grams of carbohydrates, zero grams of fibre, 21 grams of sugar, one gram of protein and 160 milligrams of sodium. The cupcakes contain artificial flavours as well as food colouring. Basically there’s nothing healthy about these but I didn’t expect there to be.
I tried all three kinds and the cake is all the same, it’s moist but crumbly vanilla cake. The cake is definitely my favourite part of the cupcakes. I don’t care for any of the icings, they’re all very sweet and artificial tasting. If I had to pick a favourite it would be the lime because it has a bit of tartness to it.
