Last week on the blog I reviewed the Costco Hi-Chew Candy and the Costco Connie’s Kitchen Caramelized Onion & Cheese Chicken Burgers.

We barbecue so much during the summer months and I’ve been really liking hot honey lately so I picked up a bottle of this Kinder’s Honey Hot Barbecue Sauce to try. The 598 milliliter bottle cost me $7.49 Canadian on sale.
The barbecue sauce needs to be refrigerated once you open it and has a best before date that is about two years from when I purchased it. This works well as a dip for the Costco Kirkland Signature Lightly Breaded Chicken Breast Chunks. You can also use it glaze or on anything you’re barbecuing.
In two tablespoons there are 50 calories, zero grams of fat, 13 grams of carbohydrates, zero grams of fibre, 12 grams of sugar, zero grams of protein and 220 milligrams of sodium. That’s a lot less sugar than I expected. This is organic and the ingredients list is pretty short and simple.
I was expecting this to be quite spicy but it’s not! You actually taste the sweetness first and then after a few seconds the heat comes through. This is definitely a sweet barbecue sauce and there isn’t much of smoky flavor. The heat/spice level is mild but noticeable. It’s also quite a salty barbecue sauce. I think it makes a really versatile barbecue sauce and I bet it’d be amazing on ribs.
