Have you ever had an Acai bowl?! I’ve only had one once while in Hawaii so I decided to review the Costco Dole Acai bowls today! These can be found in the freezer section at Costco!
Cost
These are NOT cheap. When I told my husband what I paid for them and he saw how big they were he was pretty shocked. I paid $11.99 Canadian for the box of four acai bowls. Each acai bowl is 170 grams. These aren’t cheap but acai bowls from a restaurant or healthy food café aren’t cheap either. They’re usually $10 or more.
Convenience
These are a convenient breakfast, snack or even dessert. The granola is in a separate little package and just under the lid of the acai bowl so all you have to do is open the bowl and pour the granola on. They’re kept frozen so you need to either defrost the acai bowl before you eat it or if you want to eat it right away you can microwave it.
Nutrition
One bowl is 200 calories, six grams of fat, three grams of protein, 19 grams of sugar, seven grams of fibre, 15 mg of sodium, and 35 grams of carbohydrates. The ingredients list isn’t terribly long and has mainly fruits as the main ingredients. If I only had this for breakfast I’d probably be pretty hungry by lunch as it lacks protein and is pretty small!
Taste
Although expensive and a little on the small side, these ARE tasty! The acai is not too sweet and flavorful. The bananas and a bit of sweetness to the tart acai and berries. The granola and coconut on top adds additional sweetness and also a bit of crunch. If you’ve never had acai before it tastes similar to a tart raspberry or blackberry and the acai puree is slightly creamy tasting as well as has a bit of an earthy taste.
If you’ve never had an Acai bowl before this is your opportunity to try one at home! These are a little too expensive for me to buy regularly but I enjoyed the taste and so did my husband!

Have you ever had an acai bowl? What did you think?
My husband loves them but could not find them the last few visits. I asked about them and they told me they will not be around anymore.
I loved the açai bowls but I haven’t seen them recently at the Langley Costco. Where did you find them?
We have tasted them at food court in Maui Hawaii Costco To die for Great for vegans as my family in Edmonton is They r very good
These are delicious but the Costco we go to hasn’t had the in the past few months. Maybe they are considered a seasonal item?
as a Brazilian I must say that this product doesn’t taste as our acai. I didn’t like at all as they add too many berries to balance the lack of acai. If you go to a Brazilian store to buy our pure acai you will understand what I’m talking about.
I don’t think this product is worth buying.
I loved these açai bowls and how I wished they still stock them at the local Costco. I even wrote to Costco appealing to them to consider restocking but was told that they won’t be “ due to a poor sales performance”. Which location did you find these?
I love these açai bowls and know other people who also purchased them often. Unfortunately, they are no longer available at our Regina COSTCO which is so disappointing. Hopefully, they’ll be back in stock soon.
