Today I’m reviewing the Monte Cristo Oat Fudge Bars from Costco! I couldn’t resist picking these up, I’ve tried the scones from the same company and really enjoyed them! These can be found in the bakery section.
I purchased these for $11.99 Canadian and you get 10 bars in the pack. This isn’t bad considering I pay much for a similar product at my local coffee shop!
Each bar is individually packaged so they’re really convenient to bring to work, school or share a few with friends or family. The best before date was about a week from the date we purchased the bars. They also freeze really well.
Definitely not healthy but yummy! If you’re looking for low calorie, low fat or low sugar, this isn’t the product for you.The first ingredient is sugar and these are loaded with calories. I thought there was no way I’d finish a whole bar and half would be sufficient but I easily ate a whole bar in just a few minutes a long with almost a quarter of my daily caloric needs.
These are definitely tasty and delicious but not “oh my gosh wow amazing I need to buy them all the time”. They’re like a dense, fudgy slightly crisp brownie with a soft oatmeal bottom and oatmeal center circle. They’re definitely sweet and I found them a bit dry but still good enough to finish an entire bar! They remind me of a soft oatmeal cookie mixed with a brownie. I had one with a bit of ice cream and that helped with the slightly dry texture.
I probably won’t rush to buy these again but I did enjoy them and easily finished my box! If you’re a fan of oat fudge bars you may want to check these out.
