Hi Everyone!
It seems as though Black Friday has become one of the reliably good times to renew your mobile phone plans as well as purchase a new phone. If you aren’t in the mood for haggling, the Mobile Phone Kiosk is offering a $50 a month plan with $10 off per month for 15 months. You aren’t signing a contract so next year when Black Friday rolls around again, you can sign up for whatever deal they have at the time. This plan also comes with a $50 Costco Cash Card as an incentive and they are also waiving the $50 activation fee.
12 GB of Data is good enough for the average user, but if you are looking for more data, you will probably want to find a plan somewhere else.
The phone deals are pretty good as well. You get up to a $300 Costco Cash Card when you purchase a phone and the phones are discounted. You may find it better to buy your phone through the kiosk this weekend rather than purchasing the phones outright.
The Source has a slightly better offer for Virgin Plus – $40/mo for 24 months (vs 15 months at Costco, so extra 90 in savings). They do offer $50 gift card as well, and have waived cancellation fee.
I went to Costco Mobile yesterday to ask if they have something similar, and the lady said they don’t have it, so a bit surprised to see that they actually have something similar.
Anyway, switched to it from Rogers (had the older BYOD $65/mo for 10GB). Great part about Virgin Plus is their referral program where a friend car refer you and both get $5 off the monthly bill for 10 months. Got a referral from a friend so I’ll be paying $35 per month.
You need to be mindful of what network features Virgin lacks such as WiFi calling.
Costco Mobile shops don’t sell just the plans, I was told, you must buy the hardware. So those that bring their own devices and want to score a good plan are out of luck.
Hi Kristen, I was told I could just sign up for the plan. No hardware required!
Hi. I was told the same that you need to do a hardware upgrade or get a new phone. Which location were you told otherwise?
