Today I’m reviewing the Good Foods Caramelized Onion & Gruyere Cheese Dip. I always like trying the different dips from Costco and love anything with caramelized onions so wanted to try this.
I paid $9.99 Canadian for the 680 gram dip. It’s a really large dip so one or two people might find it challenging to finish it. Costco is always about big amounts though! I think it would be better if it were a bit smaller and less expensive.
I paired this with Mary’s Organic Crackers from Costco and it was a suitable pairing! The best before date is about a month from the date I purchased the dip and it needs to be kept in the refrigerator.
Two tablespoons of dip is 60 calories, five grams of fat, three grams of carbohydrates, zero grams of fibre, two grams of sugar and protein and 130 mg of sodium.
The ingredients list has ingredients that are what I would expect to see in a store-bought dip like this. The dip contains milk, egg and mustard.
Overall I enjoy the taste of this dip, it’s not my favorite dip Costco has (I really like the plant-based queso) but it’s enjoyable! It’s not too heavy and is really creamy! You can definitely taste the caramelized onions and they add some nice crunchiness to the dip. There’s a slight sweetness to the dip as well. The gruyere cheese is more of an aftertaste but isn’t very strong. This isn’t a super strong flavored dip, more mild and a creamy.
Cost:7/10
Convenience: 10/10
Nutrition: 6/10 (not bad if you stick to two or three tablespoons!)
Taste: 7.5/10
The Green Oak Michigan is my store, but they sold out of the caramelized onion gruyere cheese. I love this dip. Will they be carrying this again and when or else where can I buy it
We like this dip, Mary crackers are awful in my opinion. There are many other crackers at Costco that we prefer. Different strokes for…
