Last week on the blog I reviewed the Costco Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit Mix and the Meiji Hello Panda Cookies.

The idea of energy drinks isn’t really that appealing to me because I already drink coffee but when I saw these Aspire drinks from Costco with natural caffeine I was drawn to them in hopes they’d work as an afternoon pick-me-up!
I paid $15.99 for the case of 12 beverages. They were on sale for four dollars off the regular $19.99 price. Although this is expensive it’s similar to other energy drinks.
Each drink is 355 milliliters and there are three different flavors in the case, mango lemonade, sweet cherry and raspberry acai. I recommend serving them cold or with ice. The expiry date is almost two years from when we purchased them.
One can has zero calories, fat, carbohydrates, protein and sodium. There are also zero grams of sugar because they’re sweetened with sucralose. The natural caffeine is green coffee bean, green tea and guarana seed. As well taurine is a natural stimulant. Other popular energy drinks use synthetic caffeine. These drinks also have a bunch of different vitamins in them like vitamins B5, B12 and others so if you’re already supplementing you may want to consider this. If I wanted some low-calorie caffeine, I’d drink black coffee and avoid sucralose. However, I recognize a lot of people don’t like coffee and want something a bit more refreshing!
My favorite out of three is the mango lemonade, it tastes like tart mango juice but doesn’t have much of a lemonade flavor. The raspberry and acai tastes strongly of artificial raspberry with a hint of acai, it’s not overly sweet or strong. The sweet cherry is by far the sweetest and quite artificial tasting. It’s not bad! I like cherry flavor though whether it’s real or artificial. I’ll say none of the drinks are overly sweet or strong, they’re tasty, kind of refreshing and smell amazing. Even though I’m not a huge energy drink person I think I’ll be finishing my case over the summer
When is Costco bringing in more Aspire energy drinks
How does it compare to green Monster Energy drink?
Caffeine is not a natural or organic thing, it’s a chemical. It doesn’t matter if it comes from plants or not. Some organic things are poisonous, like arsenic. It’s unfortunate the trendy these days is to be obsessed with natural/organic. A certain brand got in trouble recently for having too much caffeine in their drinks. To all who consume energy drinks, maybe you should look at your lifestyle if you need more energy.
