Duso’s Roasted Garlic Chicken Tortelloni Review

Last week on the blog I reviewed the Costco Kirkland Signature Roasted Garlic and Herb Almonds, Crazy Cuizine Mandarin Orange Chicken and the Costco Orowheat Sandwich Thins.

If you like my reviews for Costco food products, the best thing is that you can follow me on Instagram or Facebook and tell your friends about my blog Costcuisine, where I review new Costco food products each week! You can also check out my YouTube channel, where I do video reviews!

I saw this chicken tortelloni at Costco during my last trip and picked it up to have for a quick and convenient dinner.

This comes with three 500 gram packs of tortelloni and I paid $13.99 for it which is $3.50 off the regular price. The sale price seemed like a really good deal to me before trying this.

The tortelloni has an expiry date that’s close to two months from when I purchased it. The package states to keep it refrigerated but you could also freeze it if you’re not going to use it by the before before date. It’s very simple to cook, and is done in just a few minutes. Because it’s a chicken pasta you could pair it with an alfredo sauce, a red sauce or even a pesto.

One and a half cups of pasta contains 390 calories, four grams of fat, 68 grams of carbohydrates, four grams of fibre, zero grams, 20 grams of protein and 640 milligrams of sodium. That’s quite a few carbs, if you’re watching your carb intake! Most pasta has lots of carbs though. The amount of protein is decent and the ingredients list is pretty typical for a store-bought fresh pasta.

I’ll just start off by saying I wouldn’t buy this again. The filling has a strong garlic flavor, the pasta itself is pretty plain. There’s not much filling so there’s a lot more pasta dough than filling. The filling is also a bit strange, it’s like a chicken paste, and there aren’t any chunks of chicken. The texture of the filling I think is what really turned me off of this. Overall it just seems pretty cheaply made.

Cost: 7/10

Convenience: 9/10

Nutrition: 4/10

Taste: 4/10

  1. I should’ve read your review beforehand.. I got this tortellini yesterday and I just tried and wow.. I absolutely agree with you! The filling was so weird that’s why I decided to look for reviews. I was thinking I didn’t cook long enough! (I followed the instructions on the packaging)
What’s with that gooey jelly-like filling?
Anyways, from now on I will research before trying new stuff.
    Thanks!:)
