We eat rice quite a bit with lunches and dinners and when I saw this Bibigo cooked sticky white rice I wanted to try it! I thought it might be a time-saver for busy nights. The box has 12 bowls of rice in it and each bowl weighs 210 grams. I paid $11.99 Canadian for the box which is less than dollar per bowl.
These are very convenient, you just microwave the bowl for 90 seconds and the rice is ready to eat. You can pair this rice with any of favorite meats or vegetables. It’s plain rice so you can add your own seasonings or sauces to it. The rice can be kept at room temperature and the expiry date is about four months from when I bought it. It comes in a bowl with a peel off lid that you could bring to work or school and heat up in a pinch.
There are 310 calories, one gram of fat, 71 grams of carbohydrates, three grams of fibre, zero grams of sugar, six grams of protein and 10 milligrams of sodium in one bowl. The rice is gluten-free, dairy-free and there are only three ingredients.
This rice is just okay, it’s very sticky and pretty plain but tasty. It’s exactly what you’d expect, perfect white sticky rice. I wouldn’t buy it again because the smell of the rice turns me off. It definitely smells like plastic, which kind of makes sense but is not a good smell. The taste is good and they’re convenient but I think I’d only use these in emergencies where I’m really short on time and stick to making my rice at home.
