Sometimes I follow a gluten-free/dairy-free diet and I’m always looking for additional protein so I picked up these high protein tortillas to try. They pack comes with 12 tortillas and I paid $11.99 Canadian.
The expiry date is a crazy four months from the month I bought them. The bag recommends heating the tortillas a bit before serving them. If you aren’t going to use them by the expiry date you could easily freeze them. These can be used for breakfast burritos, lunch or dinner wraps, tacos or quesadillas!
One wrap contains 100 calories, three grams of fat, eight grams of carbohydrates, five grams of fibre, three grams of sugar, 11 grams of protein and 105 milligrams of sodium. Those are pretty awesome nutrition facts for a tortilla! The 11 grams of protein is great. The tortillas aren’t the “cleanest” despite being gluten-free and dairy-free.
I suspected these wouldn’t taste great and I was right. They’re very, very bland and taste pretty much like a thin piece of cardboard on their own. With ingredients inside the tortilla they taste a bit better but are still pretty bad tasting. They have a slight bitter flavor but otherwise are very bland. If you think of them as just as a vessel to the fillings, they’re okay. However, I’d rather save the calories and just have whatever fillings I’m putting in the tortillas on their own in a bowl.
