Today I’m reviewing sausages that I’ve seen at Costco for a long time but never have tried! The Connie’s Kitchen Feta and Spinach Chicken Sausages.
The pack of 12 sausages costs $15.99 Canadian which in my opinion is a bit expensive for chicken sausages. That’s over a dollar per sausage.
The best-before date listed on the sausages is seven months from the date purchased, which seems like a really long time to me. Personally, I wouldn’t want to keep them until April. The sausages need to be kept refrigerated and come in two separate packs of six. I think these are more like a sausage to serve with a side of rice, potatoes or salad rather than a hot dog.
One sausage is 160 calories, 10 grams of fat, two grams of carbohydrates, zero grams of fibre, zero grams of sugar, 16 grams of protein and 670 milligrams of sodium. The ingredients list is pretty straightforward and doesn’t have anything listed that I find too alarming. Although these are chicken sausages they still have a decent amount of sodium and fat.
I think these sausages are pretty okay. They’re very salty! Very cheesy tasting but I can’t taste the spinach, the main flavour is saltiness. There isn’t a distinct feta flavor but they definitely taste like some kind of cheese. They’re extremely seasoned! The texture is nice, the casing isn’t super noticeable or tough.

Convenience: 9/10
Nutrition: 4/10
Taste: 6.5/10
Either you love these sausages or you don’t.
I thank Natalie for reviewing these sausages. I bought them but I had to return because of how salty they were and they lacked any spinich flavour. I like sausages but not these. They’re currently more than $14.50 a kilogram. I had to return them to Costco and I requested to complete a customer feedback form. I think Costco should discontinue them.
It seems not everyone will agree on their perspective as what’s [really] low calorie.
Sausages and all processed foods (like sausages) with or without added nitrates etc. should be avoided and consumed rarely. Fried rice is also no better than sweets for your heart according to the most recent studies.
Like Natalie indicated, these sausages are very low on the nutritious scale at 4/10. She’s spot on here!
you sound like a lot of fun, thanks for bashing all over my attempt at a helpful comment. I guess I’m not wanted around here so have a good life.
I’ve been buying these for years and can help with some perspective.
First, I can attest the price is a recent thing along with everything else. They regularly went on sale for $10, which put them around $9/kg, cheaper than sausage in general, even kirkland italian. Plus they are pre-seasoned and cooked and freeze amazingly. Last time they were $10 I practically filled the freezer with them.
The more important part is they are really low calorie for a sausage for those of us working to get the weight down. I can whip up a quick fried rice or stir fried veggies or any low cal dish and add 2 or 3 of these chopped up right at the end and have an instant meal, quick, filling, but still very low in calories. Its helped a great deal.
Personally i prefer Connies mango/jalapena chicken sausages to these. Sweet and spicy. Not available nearly as frequently. I also find these ones salty but I am sure it’s from the feta. The feta ones go sale quite regularly for about $3 off. I find they work pretty good over a fire or BBQ and then in a bun like a hot dog.
They are clearly in 3 packs of 4 not 2 packs of 6 as you describe.
