Costco West Sale Items for June 10-16, 2019 for BC, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan

Hi Everyone!

I’m finally back from my holidays and I wanted to share my appreciation to my brother who has done an exceptional job taking over this blog for the last 52 weeks.  It took incredible commitment on his part to visit Costco every Monday for the past year and I think I can speak for everyone that we all really appreciate all the time he took to provide us with all the Costco Deals.  Thank you so much for keeping this blog going in my absence!!!

For those of you who don’t know my family and I left a couple days before the New Year of 2019 and traveled for 4 months.  We visited Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bali, Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii.  All we had planned was our flights and accommodations.  We brought our 6 month old son and our 3 year old daughter with us.

In many ways easier than we expected – laundry was dropped off and came back folded, we ate out for every meal and we hardly had to clean since we didn’t bring many possessions.  Without worrying about laundry, meals and cleaning, we had almost every day to go out and explore for half of the day.  The other half was spent of kid friendly activities.

Since we stayed in big cities, almost everyone spoke English.  My peanut allergy was not a problem – everyone understood and made accommodations.  My wife’s vegetarian meals were all catered for (mostly) and the kids ended up being great little travelers.  If anyone is thinking of taking this time off with their small children, I would highly recommend it.  With a 6 month old you won’t be getting tons of sleep anyways, so why not spend your time at the beach and pool?

Our original plan was to update the blog with some pictures of our adventures, but traveling with these kids was so busy by the time we put everybody to bed, staying up late on the computer was the last thing we wanted to do!  So here are a couple of pictures from our travels.

After living out of 2 suitcases for 4 months, it sure was nice to come back to a home where we can easily get a box of Cheerios or Fig Bars.

Anyways, over to the deals of the week.  I’m not sure if I’m just overwhelmed with the number of items in a Costco again after being absent for so long, or if it was just a really good week for sales.

For me the sale items that stood out this week were the Beach Mat, Apple Watch, the GIANT Cedar Summit Playset – Lookout Lodge (which I have never seen on sale in-store), the Step 2 Playful Sandbox, Demster’s Ancient Grains with Quinoa Bread, The Colaman Sleeping Bag, the 2 kg of Nutella, the Garofalo Organic Pasta, Whiskas Cat food, Pedigree Dog food.

One more thing: Congratulations to Ashley White & Lindsay Schalk Leusink! Each of you have been randomly selected to win a $50 Costco Cash Card! Please send me a Private Message with your contact information.

That is it for now, see you next week!

Happy Shopping!

  16. I had a poor experience with those AeroGardens that are on sale. First the light stopped working. I returned it and got another one and the pump stopped working on that one. So I returned that one and the light stopped working on that one too!!

Each time I lost my crop. After 3 attempts and months of combined effort, I had nothing to show for it. Finally, I just took a refund and ate the loss on the growing supplies.

Maybe I was just unlucky, but I don’t recommend it.

  17. That looks like a great vacation! My daughter has an anaphylactic peanut allergy. I’ve been concerned about traveling to non-English countries because of this. You found it was understood and respected everywhere you went?

    • It was much easier than I thought. We are mostly in restaurants (it was still especially cheap in Vietnam and Thailand) and they always had someone who could speak English. There are also phone apps that you can show your server that translates a card explaining your allergy to different languages. We used the app and Google Translate when we had any language barriers. Cell phone plans were so cheap there we were always connected

      • That’s something I have always worried about with my husband because he has a shellfish allergy. I would think that peanut and shellfish would be about equally challenging to avoid. We do avoid most Asian restaurants other than a Buddhist/vegan place because of cross-contamination with sauces. I don’t think he’s as allergic as he used to be when he was in his teens and 20s (he’s 46) because he hasn’t had mouth itchiness or tingling in a long time but we are very conservative about what kind of places we eat. Even if McDonald’s or Subway has a McLobster or sub promotion on that involves shellfish we just don’t eat there for a while after its DONE!

  18. What an amazing opportunity to create a lifetime of memories. Your kids are so cute! Thank you to you and your brother for this amazing blog…really appreciate the time and effort you both put into it!
