Nut and Seed Brittle Review

Costco Kirkland Signature Nut and Seed Brittle

Sweet and crunchy but not so nutty!

To see more of my Costco food reviews follow me on Instagram or Facebook and also check out my blog Costcuisine where I review tons of Costco food products each week! Last week I posted a review for the Costco RW Garcia Organic Bar-B-Q Flavor Corn Chips and Costco SiPahh Milk Flavoring Straws (kids would love these).

I went to Costco this Friday and in the midst of all the scary stuff going on right now I have some positive news! Costco brought back the Minh Egg Rolls that people all really like! Costco was quite busy yesterday but they still had meat, lots of bakery items, frozen foods but no toilet paper. paper towels, kleenex or lysol products. Today I thought I’d review the Costco Kirkland Signature Nut & Seed Brittle which is a product I’ve always been a little curious about but never tried.

Cost

I paid $8.99 Canadian for the Costco Kirkland Signature Nut and Seed Brittle. It’s quite a big container and I definitely couldn’t finish it all myself! There’s about four huge pieces of brittle in the container.

Convenience

The Costco Kirkland Signature Nut and Seed Brittle has a best before date of just over a month. You can eat this alone as a snack or I could see maybe breaking it up and putting it on top of yogurt or oatmeal for breakfast. It also freezes fine.

Nutrition

The Costco Kirkland Signature Nut and Seed Brittle doesn’t have the nutrition information on it (so frustrating).  Nuts and seeds are generally healthy although a high in calories but when you add oil and sugar to them it kind of cancels out the healthiness. Therefore I’m going to recommend this be consumed in moderation. It also contains soy, milk and may contain oats, wheat, egg and barley, mustard (weird), sulfites, peanuts and other tree nuts.

Taste

So the Costco Kirkland Signature Nut & Seed Brittle tastes pretty much as you’d expect it to! It’s basically like candy coated pumpkin seeds, flax seeds, sesame seeds, cashews and pistachios. I found it a little disappointing taste-wise. There’s a ton of pumpkin and sesame seeds but not that many cashews and pistachios so I found it to be tasted more like just a seed brittle. The sweetness of the candy coating also really overpowers the natural flavors of the nuts and seeds, the seeds don’t have a ton of flavor to begin with so you mainly taste just taste sugar with a hint of nutty after-taste.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the Costco Kirkland Signature Nut and Seed Brittle. I wanted to really like it and it wasn’t awful but it just was too sweet and didn’t have much other flavor other than sugar.  Also it was a little expensive and I could never eat as much as came in the container.

Cost: 7/10

Convenience: 10/10

Nutrition: 4/10

Taste: 6.5/10

Have you had this? What did you think? Would you try this nut and seed brittle? Why or why not?

  1. have tried this before……… not worth the money, heck not worth buying it for half the price! was expecting something more like peanut brittle “candy” coating………. I would rate the taste 2/10… tops!

  2. I have bought this for a couple of years now. Whole family loves it. Quite sweet but very tasty. Do not eat too much at once cause it has flax seed and it will help you clean out you bowels. And with the he shortage of toilet paper you don’t want to that.
