Summ! Crispy Vegetable Spring Rolls Review

Summ! Crispy Vegetable Spring Rolls

So crispy, flaky and flavorful!

To see more of my Costco food reviews follow me on Instagram or Facebook and also check out my blog Costcuisine where I review tons of Costco food products each week! Last week I posted a review for the Costco Fontaine Sante Dark Chocolate Hummus and the Costco Kirkland Signature Cheddar Brocolli Soup

Egg rolls/spring rolls are a STAPLE in our house. I’m pretty sure I’ve tried all of the varieties Costco offers. Does anyone else miss the Minh Egg Rolls? I haven’t seen them recently. By the way the new Korean Vegetable Pancakes that Costco carries that I picked up recently are AMAZING! We already blew through our first bag. Today I’m revieiwing the Summ! Crispy Vegetable Spring Rolls which is an item we’ve never tried before!

Cost

The cost of the spring rolls is $8.49 Canadian but I was able to get them for $2.50 off. Very reasonable for 18 spring rolls! At restaurants you can pay $6-$8 dollars for a serving of three or four spring rolls that taste pretty much the same.

Convenience

These turned out amazingly crispy, golden brown and crunchy after baking them in the oven at 375 degrees farenheit for about 20 minutes. You could have these as a snack, serve them as an appetizer or serve them as a side. The best before date is about a month from the date I purchased them. The spring rolls come in a two-pack with each pack having nine spring rolls. Despite my husband’s HUGE appetite we can’t eat nine spring rolls in one sitting so I put the remaining spring rolls in a plastic bag and froze them with a sauce packet. A family of four could probably easily eat nine though!

Nutrition

Two spring rolls and two tbsp of sauce is 250 calories, 12 grams of fat, four grams of sugar, seven grams of protein, 440 mg of sodium, three grams of fibre and 29 grams of carbohydrates. The ingredients list shows that the spring rolls contain, wheat, gluten and soy.

Taste

After baking these in the oven they turn super golden brown, crispy and extremely flaky! They taste comparable to any spring rolls I’ve had in a restaurant and are really delicious. They’re very well seasoned! You can taste flavors of soy, sesame, garlic and I think a bit of ginger! The spring rolls have a generous amount of filling which is mostly cabbage and carrots. They’re a little on the salty side but that just adds to the overall flavor. The sauce is a pretty standard sweet plum sauce but still tasty.

I would definitely purchase these again. Although my husband and I usually buy pork or chicken egg/spring rolls I didn’t even notice that these didn’t have meat and really enjoyed them.

  1. I would love to see them bring back the Spicy Uncle Dave’s pickles.. we love them! Haven’t seen them on the shelves in Winnipeg for a few years!

  2. They had tins of lump crab meat at one time.. it was on the deli counter close to Rotisserie chickens? The tin had nice large chunks of crab meat. Haven’t seen it for a few years now.
