CONTEST #5 – L’Oréal Paris Magic Root Cover Up Review

Costco West Fan Blog has partnered with L’Oréal Paris to promote L’Oréal Paris Magic Root Cover Up.  This product can be used to cover up roots or grey hairs between colourings and comes in dark brown or dark blonde!

This is a paid promotion and all opinions are my own (or Natalie’s)…  With that being said, I would never promote a product that I didn’t sample and believe in.

Read the review to the bottom to find out how to win one of three great L’Oréal Prize packs from our fourth L’Oréal Contest!

Hi everyone! It’s Natalie from Costcuisine.com (Costco Food & Product Review Fan Blog). Today I’m reviewing a hair product by L’Oréal Paris that I was really excited to try!

I’m sure a lot of women can relate to not having their hair coloured in months due to COVID-19! Before the virus, I had been procrastinating on getting my hair done for a very long time thinking I could get it done at any time. Then COVID-19 hit and I was kicking myself for not getting my hair done while I had the chance! Luckily, there are some great options for doing your own hair colouring at home. On that note, today I get to review the L’Oréal Paris Magic Root Cover Up, which is available at Costco!

This product is great for extending the time between hair colourings – it does exactly what it says and magically covers up any roots/grey hair with just a simple spray. I loved that it didn’t change the texture of my hair as I thought it might leave my hair feeling crusty. I was happy to find that my hair still felt nice and soft after applying the root cover up! It didn’t leave color on my hands, and when I got a little bit on my forehead it easily wiped away. The root cover up lasts through only one shampoo, so you can reapply it as you need to. I thought I would definitely find colour all over my pillow when I wore it to bed, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that there wasn’t any residue left in the morning.

L’Oréal Paris Magic Root Cover Up

To use the root cover up, you just shake the can well, spray from about 10 centimetres away and then comb through your hair and let it dry. It’s quick and easy! You don’t need a lot of product to cover the roots. I found spraying the root cover up onto the hair in short bursts worked best.

You can purchase the three-pack of L’Oréal Paris Magic Root Cover Up dark blonde to light brunette at Costco for $24.99 Canadian. This is very reasonable as you get three cans of magic root cover up in the pack!

I’ll certainly keep the L’Oréal Paris Magic Root Cover Up in my beauty arsenal to lengthen the time between hair salon visits, which will save me money while keeping my hair healthier in the long run. Also, if there’s another quarantine in the future, this is a great product to have on hand to keep your hair looking freshly done!

  1. You are all adorable. Hehe. I haven’t made it to the hair salon since Feb. 8, 2017. I was supposed to get most of my hair chopped off for cancer wigs on Feb. 20 this year but got struck down with a nasty bout of motion sickness, which rendered me immobile for almost 3 days. By then I was on my way “home” to my new place in a small town with only 1 hair dresser, and before the end of that week everything was shut down for quarantine. My grey’s are getting stronger, in the mean time. Haha

  2. Root cover up is excellent….its what I have using for over three months and will continue to until I can get a hair appointment.

  3. It’s been a whopping 5 months for me. Like you I procrastinated and then Covid hit. This is a great product. I’ve used it several times and am always impressed with it.

  4. It has been FOUR MONTHS since I had my roots done, so now I am starting to Embrace my COVID GREY hair! I would LOVE to use the L’OREAL PARIS MAGIC ROOT COVER UP during this growing out phase!

  5. 3.5 months and I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to try this ROOT cover up 🙂 Thanks for the AWESOME CONTEST Costco and L’Oreal Paris!!
