Bread Garden Morning Glory Muffins Review

Bread Garden Morning Glory Muffins

Not my favorite muffin!

Please note that this review was not paid for or sponsored by any third party. I purchased this product with my own money and the opinions in this review are strictly my own. I am not affiliated with Costco or any of its suppliers. I am just a fan of the company. I write these reviews to help my fellow shoppers.

Hi it’s Natalie from the Costco food and product review fan blog  Costcuisine! If you like my reviews for Costco food products the greatest thing you can do is follow me on  Instagram or Facebook and also tell yours friends about my blog Costcuisine where I review tons of Costco food products each week!  In the last week I reviewed the Costco Kirkland Signature Organic Coconut Water and Costco Sol Cuisine Spinach Chickpea Bites

There’s a few new products at Costco for the fall season! Today I’m reviewing one I tried last week when I went to Costco. The Bread Garden Morning Glory Muffins.

Bread Garden Morning Glory Muffins

Cost

I paid $9.79 Canadian for the pack of 12 morning glory muffins.

Bread Garden Morning Glory Muffins

Convenience

These make a convenient snack or breakfast. Each muffin is individually wrapped which makes the muffins easy to bring to work or school or even pop in the freezer. The best before date is over a week from the date I purchased the muffins. These also freeze well.

Nutrition

One muffin is 270 calories, 17 grams of fat, four grams of fibre, eight grams of sugar, five grams of protein 190 mg of sodium, and 26 grams of carbohydrates. That’s quite a bit of fat and calories for a muffin that’s not actually that big. However the amount of sugar is pretty reasonable, less sugar in these muffins than there is in some small yogurts.

Taste

These weren’t our favorite muffins, they tasted a bit dry and the flour used in them almost tasted powdery. The muffins didn’t have that comforting, sweet, warm morning glory flavor that I’ve found trying other morning glory muffins so I was a bit disappointed. They do have chunks of pineapple, cranberries and raisins but I wish they were a little more moist and flavorful and didn’t have a powdery taste. I gave some to my parents and my dad put a big slab of butter on his muffins and said they tasted better with butter!

I probably won’t repurchase these muffins again. I’d rather have the Costco Kirkland Signature Muffins even though they’re so bad for you but so good!

Taste: 6/10

  1. @Carol — like with everything at Costco. The best method to show Costco your dissatisfaction with any product is to return it for a refund. There are lots of complainers and if you don’t do your part and do what’s expected of you: return the item back to Costco then Costco won’t know. It’s really that simple.

  2. Think you scored these much higher than anyone I know would have. They were awful -very disappointed as I thought they would be handy for lunches. Grandson only managed one bite-may turn him off muffins for quite awhile. If I didn’t know morning glory muffins can be very tasty than these would have meant I might never eat them.

Don’t know how to let Costco know that they are so bad -some people I know threw them out as no one in there family would eat them after trying one ! I can understand doing that with this product LOL
