I love guacamole but this was a bit disappointing.

Hi it’s Natalie from the Costco food and product review fan blog Costcuisine! If you like my reviews for Costco food products the greatest thing you can do is follow me on Instagram or Facebook and also tell your friends about my blog Costcuisine where I review tons of Costco food products each week! In the last week, I reviewed A TON OF CHRISTMAS PRODUCTS including the Costco Natrel Egg Nog, Costco Almond Roca Collection, Costco Kirkland Signature Yule Log, Costco Gudrun Fine Belgian Chocolates, Costco Pirouline Chocolate Hazelnut Wafers and also have an egg nog cookie recipe from Costco connection posted on my blog that I tested!
Planning appetizers for Christmas or New Year’s Eve for your household to enjoy? Maybe you’re like me and absolutely love guacamole. I didn’t think I could ever say no to guacamole until I tried this Costco Big Taste Fresh Black Bean Guacamole.
Cost
I paid $9.99 Canadian for the 725 gram container of guacamole, which isn’t exactly cheap.
Convenience
This had a best before date of about five days from the date we purchased the guacamole. I thought this would be perfect to put on salads, have with tortilla chips and use with taquitos. This needs to be kept refrigerated and can be found in the refrigerated section by the other dips.
Nutrition
Two tablespoons of guacamole is 40 calories, three grams of fat, three grams of carbohydrates, two grams of fibre, zero grams of sugar, one gram of protein and 60 mg of sodium. The ingredients list is short and sweet which I appreciate. Avocados are an amazing source of healthy fats!
Taste
I loved how green and fresh-looking this black bean guacamole is and also really appreciated the little chunks of avocado that were mixed in. What I didn’t love was how much acidity and lime juice this had in it. The flavor of the fresh avocado and black beans was completely overpowered by a sour, acidic flavor coming from the lime juice used to keep this fresh. Had it not been for the tongue-tingling sourness I would probably really enjoy this guacamole. If you’re someone who likes a lot of lime in your guac you’d probably like this but if you love the creamy, buttery flavor of guacamole you won’t find it here.
I won’t be buying this again and will stick to my favorite wholly guacamole that I purchase from Costco.

What’s your favourite store bought guacamole?
I love this guacamole, it’s low on preservatives. Less sodium the better. Hard to find the last couple of weeks. Hopefully it’s back in the GTA soon.
I love guacamole but would never buy any brand with cilantro in the ingredient list.
