Last week on the blog I reviewed the Costco Kirkland Signature Chicken Sandwich with Sauce and the Costco Kirkland Signature Tempura Shrimp Tacos.

The box has 30 bars in it, 15 of each flavor and I paid $13.99 Canadian for the box, which isn’t bad for 30 decent sized granola bars!
Each bar is individually packaged and they’re manufactured in a peanut-free facility so I can send them to daycare with my daughter and they’re school-safe. The best-before date on the bars is surprisingly only about three months from when I purchased them.
There are two flavors in the box, apple cinnamon and banana bread with real chocolate chip. The two flavors have slightly different nutrition facts but are very similar. The apple cinnamon flavor has half a gram less of fat and a gram more of carbohydrates and fibre when compared to the banana bread flavor. The first ingredient is sugar but one positive is that the sugar is from tapioca syrup and date paste.
The bars are pretty chewy. The apple & cinnamon flavor has a not overly strong apple & cinnamon flavor but not very flavorful. Banana bread with chocolate chips is also dull in flavor and has the same similar chewy texture to the apple & cinnamon but the chocolate chips give it a bit more firmness. You taste the chocolate chips more than the banana bread flavor. Overall, they’re not bad but not amazing. My almost two-year-old seems to enjoy them but my adult taste-buds aren’t excited by the bars.
