Last week on the blog I reviewed the Costco Kirkland Signature Cinnamon Filled Scones, Costco Kirkland Signature Mushroom Soup and the Costco Kirkland Signature European Style Crusty Rolls.

I enjoyed the Scoiattolo Burrata & Lemon Zest Ravioli and the Scoiattolo Grilled Vegetable Ravioli. So I decided to pick up this new chicken cacciatore ravioli. I paid $16.99 Canadian for the 907 gram package of ravioli.

This is super easy to cook, you just boil the ravioli for three minutes. You might want to keep an eye on them because some of my ravioli exploded in the water before the three-minute mark. The ravioli has been previously frozen and it expires over a month from when I bought it. I served mine with simple olive oil because I don’t personally love the idea of chicken and tomato sauce combined.

There are 470 calories, 16 grams of fat, 68 grams of carbohydrates, seven grams of fibre, 15 grams of sugar and 1510 milligrams of sodium in a one a half cup serving of ravioli. That’s a ton of sodium!

I was immediately thrown off by the light pink colour of the paste/filling inside the ravioli since it’s chicken. The filling is really soft and the pasta was quite soft too even though I boiled it for less than three minutes. The flavour of the pasta is fine and the flavour of the filling is mainly chicken with chicken broth. The filling is salty and you don’t taste the vegetables really. I wouldn’t buy this kind again and don’t recommend it.
