Last week on the blog I reviewed the Costco Stockmeyer Rotating Music Tin with Butter Cookies, Costco Siwin Potstickers, and the Costco Corne Port-Royal Chocolates.

Today I’m reviewing a seasonal product that’s just available at Costco for Christmas. This Sweet Temptation box that’s filled with gingerbread, chocolates and cookies. The very long and narrow 1.125 kilogram box is $29.99 Canadian at Costco and contains two packages of gingerbread and one package of cookies.

This is a very large box which gives it a wow factor and may be fun to bring to work as a gift for your coworkers. Once you open the packages in the box they don’t reseal so if you’re having this at home you could pop the packages into a large Ziplock bag to keep them fresh. The expiry date is about is eight months from when I bought it.

Three cookies have 140 calories, six grams of fat, 19 grams of carbohydrates, one gram of fibre, 12 grams of sugar, two grams of protein and 40 milligrams of sodium. The ingredients list has wheat, egg, milk, soy, hazelnuts, almonds and pistachios. The cookies/gingerbread may contain walnut, cashews, peanut and sesame.

I really enjoy the biscuits in this box but unfortunately there’s way more chocolate covered gingerbread than biscuits so I probably wouldn’t buy it again for that reason. The chocolate and gingerbread just doesn’t seem to pair well in my opinion, even though the chocolate seems to be decent quality. It’s like a gingerbread cake with a chocolate coating and they all taste the same. The biscuits have a bit more variety. If you like gingerbread cake with chocolate you might enjoy this but I’d rather just buy the Kirkland Signature European Cookies.

Taste: 7.5/10 for the cookies and 5/10 for the gingerbread.
