Hi it’s Natalie from Costcuisine! If you like my reviews for Costco food products the greatest thing you can do is follow me on Instagram or Facebook and also tell yours friends about my blog Costcuisine where I review tons of Costco food products each week! Last week I posted a review for the Costco Trident Wild Pacific Pink Salmon Burgers and Costco Loma Linda Plant Based Chipotle Bowls. Feel free to let me know if there are any products you’d like to see reviewed!
Today I’m reviewing the Ozery Bakery Protein Rounds! These are for those individuals who want a little bit more plant based protein in their life while enjoying their carbs! I know a lot of people really like the Ozery Bakery Morning Blueberry Rounds so I thought I’d review these! These can be found in the bakery section with all of the bread.
Cost
I paid $6.99 Canadian for the pack of 12 rounds. Which isn’t too expensive considering a lot of products marketed with plant based protein are on the more expensive side.
Convenience
The one thing I don’t find convenient about these is I find them very hard to cut in half. They’re a little too thick for my liking for me to just eat them without cutting them in half but I also find they’re a little too thin to cut. The best before date was about a week from the date we purchased them and they freeze just fine.
Nutrition
One round/bun is 230 calories, three and a half grams of fat, 28 grams of carbohydrates, three grams of sugar, 250 mg of sodium, 10 grams of protein and five grams of fibre. The rounds do contain plenty of healthy ingredients but also a bit of sugar. A lot of whole grain bread has about six grams of protein or more in each slice so you’re not getting THAT much more protein by buying these.
Taste
These taste like a super healthy, grain and seed filled bread with a hint of pea protein. Yes, you can actually taste the pea protein which gives these a subtle earthy flavor. Some people may not like the pea protein flavor, personally I don’t love the flavor from pea protein but that’s me. That pea flavor can be easily masked by whatever you put in or on your protein round. I tried these plain to get a true sense of how they taste but my husband ate his sliced in half, toasted and slathered with butter and raspberry jam so he didn’t notice the earthy-pea taste. These are loaded with healthy ingredients like flax, millet, oats and sunflower seeds (just to name a few ingredients). The rounds taste like an extremely hearty, healthy, nutritious bread.
I actually found the pea protein flavor a little bit too strong for my liking so probably wouldn’t purchase these again. If you’re really wanting a higher protein type bread and are loading them up with a ton of nut butter, jam or other ingredients I think the pea protein flavor is less pronounced.

Do you have a favorite plant based product from Costco?
I loved these but can’t find them anymore. I add peanut butter and bananas to them for breakfast and that keeps me full till dinner
