Costco Executive Coupons: January 4-17, 2021

Happy Mew Year everyone! Although, so far 2021 seems quite similar to 2020…
The Costco Executive Coupons have arrived, although I didn’t seem to get mine this month. Apparently, these coupons are located inside the Costco Connection Magazine, but for some reason, I never received mine. I thought I would do an extra post in case this happened to anyone else.
One of the bonuses of the executive Costco membership is that you get mailed extra coupons! Granted that if you follow this blog, you will be able to stock up on most of these items anyways, but I’m sure there are a few people who could use an extra sale. I find that I always spend enough at Costco to justify an executive membership – although I may go to Costco more than most of you. Last time, due to Covid-19, you did not need the physical coupons, but you had to remind the cashier that you were using a coupon. They all had copies of the coupons to scan in themselves.
Here are the Costco Executive Coupons that get mailed out to Executive Members Only. The coupons come in the same package as the Costco Connection Magazine. If for some reason you are an executive member, but are not receiving the magazine and the coupons, stop by the membership desk. Your membership may have the wrong address on file or you may need to opt-in for the mailing list. You can also change them on Costco.ca or on the Costco App under My Account – Preferences.
Alternatively, you may be able to pick up a set of executive coupons at the membership desk – sometimes they have extras if you ask nicely.
The executive membership is twice the price of the basic membership ($60 vs. $120).
One last thing to note is that these executive coupon deals are not as good as the regular instant rebates. This set of coupons, many of these items will go on sale on a pretty regular basis, if you can wait to stock up, you will save a bit of money. These executive coupons charge tax on the original amount, whereas regular instant rebates charge tax on the price after the sale price has been deducted. I wasn’t even aware that the exec coupons were out so when I got to Costco I wasn’t aware of all the savings that were available. Everything else in the world can still be mailed despite covid why haven’t they mailed out the coupons like usual?
I think it is one coupon per item, but if you go to the Membership Counter they may have extra coupon books, or maybe you could ask a friend if he/she is not using theirs.
We used an executive coupon for the first time today and didn’t realize that you can only buy one item with the coupon. We were buying 3 of the shelving units for $25 off.
Can someone please let us know if it is one discount per sale period or per day or …?

It depends on your shopping habits, but I haven’t had to pay for the membership in years because the rewards always exceed it. Do a rough estimate of 2% of your yearly spending and see if it would work. We go weekly as it’s our main grocery store, but not always crazy big shops either because we go weekly, often less than $100. I skip most if the aisles unless I need something from them. Other large purchases usually round out the rest, plus holiday shopping, etc.
We always get easily 2 – 3 times more than the cost of the Executive membership back on our rewards ‘check’ each year! It has been well worth the extra cost of the Executive Membership for us!

when costco pushes you to become an executive member in the last few months of the year (my card expired in december), is it worth it? for example, in september or october, they strongly encouraged me to pay, i think it was $25 or so to upgrade to executive and they would throw in $50 online coupon until december as well. i wasn’t interested in the coupon and i didn’t know how many more times i would shop until dec. i ended up not doing it but maybe i should have?
Mine was the opposite — I did receive executive coupons this month, but did not last month. They seem to be taking turns.
