January at Costco is usually the time of year when vitamins go on sale and large furniture pieces and exercise equipment go on sale. If you are on the lookout for kitchen, living room, or mattresses this is the time of year to pick it up. Keep in mind that these items are not always stocked for long, so if you see anything you like, you should pick it up before it is gone. Keep your receipts! You may find that some of these items go on clearance because I take photos of all the clearance items I see. If one of the items you purchased goes on clearance and you find it in stock, you can take your receipt into the returns desk and they will give you the difference! With furniture items, I have seen quite a few of $200+ refunds!
If you are in the Vancouver area, make sure you get outside in the sun in the next 2 days! That strange globe in the sky certainly is a welcome sight.

Hi David, these photos are from a different store and has different items. I did two seasonal posts in a row since there were a lot of new items this week.
Do you have to donate for each copy or just one donation? I have 4 siblings, one brother-in-law, one nephew and one aunt and one best friend. So I definitely total 8. I like that I don’t have to fill out everyone’s info everytime and the fact that I can look back and see what was reported the year before.
When filing your taxes and saving to the cloud like Simpli Tax or Turbo Tax, they hold your personal information (which means tax information) for 7 (seven) years.
Additionally, Turbotax dropped support for Windows 7. For those running older PCs pre 2010) you are forced to buy a new system because you will surely run into performance issues running Windows 10 on an older device. In fact, Microsoft originally claimed a Windows 7 PC will run just as fast on Win 10 but before they stopped supporting Win 7 last January, they said you need to upgrade to a new system for the very reasons I mentioned.
Has anyone seen Zantac or Ranitidine at Costco lately? They had it briefly a few month ago when the manufacturing/carcinogen issue was resolved, now all I can find at Costco are Tums and Gaviscon. Thanks!

If you are looking for ways to save on taxes, Genutax, an Albertan company has been putting out software for years and you can save it from year to year, and it’s free, but they do take donations. After having tax programs increase their price, and decrease how many returns you could do, we stopped using the boxed versions and found this. It’s been great! (And, did I mention, free?)
First off – thank you so much for putting this website together. I love it!
Second – you can actually file your tax returns for free with Turbo Tax. You don’t actually need to pay for anything. The free version just mean your information won’t be stored for you to roll forward next year. You just go to their website to complete your return. They’ll ask you multiple times to pay for a service, but you can always say proceeds for free.
Missed the umbra hooks. Do they still have them in store? Which Costco?
