  1. Costco offered a similar product for years with no problems. It was replaced with a similar product in cheaper packaging, breaks into crumbs, and now is dangerous to my pets. Processed with ammonia, reminds me of “pink slime” but for my dogs.
Costco needs to pay better attention to the well being of their customers and their pets. Try paying less attention to profits by switching from a product which lacked issues to one that has issues..

  2. We purchased these rawhide so also, I have a 4 year old Jack Russell who has had these bones since he was a puppy as well as his brother. Last week my dog became violently ill vomitting, lethargic, dehydration, We took him to the vet , started on antibiotics, anti nausea pills, fluid push and xrays. The beginning, two days later my dog is still not drinking water, or eating! He is now being hospitalized for IV hydration and barium xrays +++ started on force feelings of gastrointestinal food from the vet. We now took him home,on anti nausea pills, antibiotics and force feeding him. Still not eating juststarteddrinkingwater. The vet has determined this was caused from toxicity of amonnia from these rawhides. I have contacted the pet company and have submitted all my vet bills and statement for them to them to review. Total of $1690. Recalls are great but in this case ” A Little to LATE” this poor dog has been through the wringer and the stress we have all gone through is unbelievable. If we did not recognize his symptoms of dehydration he would not be here today. He became TOXIC from these rawhides. He has lost weight and has zero energy! It’s heartbreaking you put your trust in a big corporation like Costco when you purchase their items!

    Very disappointed

    • JoAnne, I am sorry to hear about your dog’s health. I also ran up high vet bills for a furry family member & love of our life here. Same symptoms. Unfortunately he passed away as the vomiting starved him & dehydrated him. 2 Vets did all they could in the end! We received the post mailed recall a week after our dog passed away!!! ??? This won’t be the end of my posts or battle on this matter! To offer to refund my vet bills really disgusts me! They can never bring my Old English Bulldog PTSD companion back!!

  3. We have a package that is bad. My dog was sick multiple times and we couldn’t figure out why. Without you posting this we would not have known. Thank you!

  4. We had one package that was bad. Luckily our dog would not even accept the one we gave her. The smell was so bad that we had to throw the whole package out immediately. Do you require the package for a refund? We buy these dog treats several times a year and do not know which time we purchased the affected product. We shopped at both Saskatoon locations.

  5. Thanks for the heads up! There have been so many recalls lately. 🙁 I’m so glad your posts come up on my Facebook feed!
