Kirkland Signature Banana Pecan Loaf Review

Banana Pecan Loaf

If you’ve never had banana bread french toast I highly recommend you try it!

To see more of my Costco food reviews follow me on Instagram or Facebook and also check out my blog Costcuisine where I review tons of Costco food products each week! Last week I posted a review for the Costco Kirkland Signature Almond Flour, Costco Fresh Additions Fully Cooked Chicken Breast Bites and posted a recipe for nutritious muffins using the Costco Kirkland Signature Almond Flour!

A lot of my friends, family and colleagues are BIG into comfort food right now! People are trying new recipes at home and supporting their local favorite bakeries and restaurants by ordering takeout. When my husband and I went on our honeymoon we had banana bread french toast for the first time and it brings back fond memories! I decided to pick up the Costco Kirkland Signature Banana Pecan Loaf to review and to make french toast with! Here’s my recipe for banana bread french toast!

Banana Pecan Loaf

Cost

This massive pecan loaded loaf only costs $6.99 Canadian. That’s not bad at all considering how many pecans this has and how large it is!

Convenience

The best before date is about five days from the date the loaf is packed on. I like to cut mine up and freeze it (it freezes really well by the way). Perfect for an easy breakfast or snack!

Banana Pecan Loaf Ingredients

Nutrition

This gets points for healthy pecans and bananas but let’s be honest, banana loaf is definitely not the healthiest! You can expect high calories, high fat and of course high sugar! I do appreciate that the ingredients list is pretty straight forward and simple and doesn’t have a million ingredients listed.

Banana Pecan Loaf

Taste

I have to say, this banana loaf is as good as any banana loaf I’ve had from a store or bakery. Maybe not as good as freshly homemade banana loaf right out of the oven but still really good! It’s moist, soft, fluffy, not too heavy, sweet and LOADED with pecans. Therefore if you’re not a pecan/nut fan you might want to pass on this, especially if you’re allergic to nuts! I personally really enjoy the nuts because I like the added crunch and find they balance out the sweetness of the bananas. This can be consumed by itself or if you’re like me you’ll put a bunch of butter on it or turn it into Banana Bread French Toast.

I have enough Costco Kirkland Signature Banana Pecan Loaf in my freezer to last me quite awhile so won’t be repurchasing it any time soon but if I’m in the mood for banana loaf in the future I won’t hesitate to pick one up!

Cost: 9.5/10

Convenience: 10/10

Nutrition: 1/10 (for the nuts and bananas)

Taste: 8.5/10

What’s your favorite Costco bakery item? Do you make your own banana loaf or buy it?
