Not my favorite ravioli!

Hi it’s Natalie from the Costco food and product review fan blog Costcuisine! If you like my reviews for Costco food products the greatest thing you can do is follow me on Instagram or Facebook and also tell yours friends about my blog Costcuisine where I review tons of Costco food products each week! In the last week I reviewed the Costco Rao’s Homemade Marinara Sauce, Costco Smokey River Meat Company Turkey Breakfast Sausages, Costco Vonbee Honey, Citron & Ginger Tea Base.
So while at work last Friday I was super excited because I knew I was going to be indulging in pasta and garlic toast when I got home! I used all ingredients from Costco, including Rao’s Homemade Marinara Sauce and also Duso’s Jumbo Chicken & Mozzarella Ravioli. Today I’m reviewing Duso’s Jumbo Chicken & Mozzarella Ravioli.
Cost
I paid $12.49 for the 1 kg two-pack of ravioli. Each pack is 500 grams. Not super expensive but not the cheapest either! I’d say this is reasonably priced and is comparable to other fresh refrigerated pasta.
Convenience
The best before date on the pasta was about a month from the date we purchased it. This is very easy to make, you just boil a ton of salted water and throw the pasta in for six to eight minutes. You can pair it with either red or white sauce or even pesto and it makes good leftovers for lunch!
Nutrition
1/3 of a 500 gram package is 310 calories, 11 grams of fat, 44 grams of carbohydrates, three grams of fibre, 790 mg of sodium, one gram of sugar and 22 grams of protein! That’s actually quite a bit of protein but that doesn’t necessarily make this healthy!
Taste
I have to say I didn’t love this ravioli which is weird because I generally like ALL and ANY pasta but the filling just wasn’t my thing! Unfortunately, the seasoning used in this wasn’t my favorite. I had two pieces that tasted fishy which is weird for chicken ravioli and it was well before the best before date. My husband also found bits of unsavory chicken and gristle in his ravioli that he didn’t eat. The actual pasta noodles are fine and I think with a different filling I would like this ravioli much better!
I didn’t love this enough to repurchase it, I definitely thought I’d like it more since I really do love chicken and ravioli but this just didn’t taste great!

What’s your favorite refrigerated pasta from Costco?
I think we need a way to contact Costco with our feedback about these products and more.
Due to Covid, Costco has effectively done away with their customer feedback system. You could write a comment and insert into their suggestion box. They seem nowhere to be found now.
I’d like a way to ensure the stores actually hear us. I have little faith and trust in their online customer contact which seems to be geared for issues with their online orders only. It’s almost impossible to let the stores know what we think.
Hi KB, I’ve had good luck contacting Costco through their Costco Canada Facebook page. They have always responded to me there.
I haven’t been a fan of these either. Either no taste or they taste off. The Scoiattolo Vegetable Ravioli from Italy is quite good especially with the Costco pesto and shaved mozzarella.
Very disappointing product. We actually threw the pasta out after each taking a few bites. The ravioli even seemed to have an “off” odor during preparation.
I also purchased this pasta and found the taste not so pleasant. However, the butternut squash variety is a different story! That one I will be buying again.
Didn’t like the taste and certainly not as good as the triangle shaped one they used to sell until recently .
Also the other 1/2 package went moldy in fridge well before the expiry date .
