Hi Everyone!
I hope you are all doing well! It was a little sad for spring break to end. Even though the weather was cold and wet the kids spent lots of time outside and they have all started to play with each other so much better. Yesterday, seemed like the real first day of spring, where the kids were finally able to shed their winter jackets and play outside in the sun in their T-shirts. Whether or not you are sad or happy about the end of spring break, here is a minute of baby giggles to make you feel better!
It must really be spring because the garden centre was open today! I did take photos of all the plants including all the different fruit trees which I’ll be posting on Thursday. Since the garden centre just opened, it looks like there is lots of room for more products, so I’ll probably go through again a little later in the season to make sure I have covered all the items. If you have a greenhouse, you might want to get started on those tomatoes and strawberries!
Just so you know, it looks like there are some supply issues with Kirkland Pet food as I saw this notice in the Pet Food Section. Hopefully, this won’t last too long.
Organic Whole Chickens, Boneless Beef Blade Roasts, Chicken Drumsticks, Poppies Mini Cream Puffs, the Evergreen 96″ Bird Feeding Station, Miracle-Gro Indoor Potting Mix, Christie Premium Plus Crackers, Christie Arrowroot Cookies, Sunbrown Australian Brown Rice, Bag To Earth Food Waste Bags, Aerious Allergy Tablets, Cadbury Creme Eggs, Larabars, Oberto Original Beef Jerky and Kirkland Baby Wipes are all new sale items on my list!
Happy Shopping!

Cute video! Each week, I look forward to your posts. I don’t go shopping until I see what you have up! I also use it to inform my elderly mother of what’s on sale, so I can pick up her favorite things, too.
Thx for all you do, saved me some precious dollars.
Loved the baby giggles, miss those days!
Hi there! Love your account and work you do! Would you happen to know if the dark chocolate barkthins have been discontinued? They usually alternate between the pumpkin seed and almond one but recent visits didn’t have either! So disappointing! Thanks
Hi Dan! It looks like the Barkthins dark chocolate with almonds (Item#422647) will one on sale for $2 off from April 4-May 1, it might be worth a try to check in with you local Costco locations next week!
Hey Tynan, thanks for explaining the process a bit. It really helps everyone understand a bit more.
However, I do feel you need more than one person involved to get the new pics up. It’s a lot of work for one person especially in editing the pics and prices, even if you automate the process as much as possible with OCR and existing data from spreadsheets, etc.
As a suggestion or a reminder, perhaps have only the “sale” items posted on Mondays and “new” items on your weekend post? I believe that will speed up the process.
Hi Linus, Thank you for your feedback! I do have someone starting next week to help edit the photos; however, it is more that I need to pick up my daughter from school at 2:30pm (with my wife returning to work shortly) and I won’t be able to finish the post before I have to get out the door. I doubt it will affect when the post gets published as I still have to drive home to upload the photos.
As for skipping new photos on Monday, you probably give my memory too much credit. Once I see a new item I take a photo. With the number of items I see every week, I doubt I can systematically skip the new items on Monday and still remember to take their photo on Friday.
Taking a photo of a new item as soon as It comes in it is helpful for the database when it comes to reoccurring seasonal items. I always get a lot of questions about when seasonal items are coming in (like BBQs or camping chairs.) If I take a photo of the items as soon as I notice them, you will start to see a pattern based on when these items are entered into the database.
Appreciate all your work, don’t go shopping until I see your list.
What a cutie patootie!! Thanks for the giggles:)
Thank you for the post! The little one is absolutely angelic! Enjoy the spring weather!
Thank you! That’s a lot of work. I do appreciate the consistent upgrades. The list feature is useful. I especially love the price history! I don’t mind the afternoon updates. It’s understandable that they take a lot of time to enter in the information. I’m not sure if your subscription
information has been updated to give the new time to “afternoon by 4 pm” or whatever is most realistic. Given that you also have 3 young children, the very reasonable subscription fee, and the fact that everyone has the option for free access the following day, I’m happy for the service and happy to be a paying subscriber.
One suggestion, I think that the weekend sales actually start on Thursday. At least, I’ve noticed new sale items when I go on Thursday evening. Personally, I’d be very happy to forgo the super post on Wednesday and have a weekend sales post on Thursdays, if that’s an option. That would also free up your Friday.
Thank you for your work!
I agree with your comments
Oh my gosh, your baby’s giggles really made me smile! So darn adorable. Thanks for the post, loads of good sales this week.
Do you think you’ll ever post your early access before noon like you wrote, initially? I’m already done my weekly Costco run on Mondays long before you publish the items on your website for the week.
Hi Ariel, I’m working on getting the posts up earlier; however the store opens at 9:00AM and I’m usually in the store taking photos until 11:30. I still have to drive home and edit the captions and create the post. I am working on a way to get the post out earlier, but realistically, it won’t be complete until around 2:00PM. I had previously stated a goal of posting at 12:00PM but that was before I was entering each photo into a database to make historical prices searchable.
In the next couple of days, I’ll be launching a new feature for paid members that will allow you to set up sale notifications for your favorite items. If any item you select goes on clearance or sale, it will automatically send you an E-mail. Historical prices and sale notifications are all features that are made possible through taking the time to enter products into the database.
Nahh. 2 pm is 100% fine. No complaints. I don’t mind waiting 2 hours to get info before I head there. Thanks to your hard work; keep it up!
I appreciate the searchable history much more than the timing of the posts, but I admit I’m rarely at Costco at 9 am on a Monday.
Thank you!
Ooh that would be a great new feature!
