Costco West Sale Items for March 19-25, 2018 for BC, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan
Hi Everyone,
There were quite a few more sale items that usual in the store this week! Easter must be on its way because Kinder Eggs are on sale! Contigo Water Bottles are on sale for $5.00 off a pack of 3. These water bottles do not drip and are much better for the environment that single use plastic bottles! Windex is on sale – just in time for a bit of spring cleaning! Alcan Aluminum foil for the early season BBQ. Tropicana Orange Juice, Poppers Mini Cream Puffs, Kirkland (Jelly Belly) Jelly Beans, Green Giant Niblets Corn, Hampton House Chicken Breast Strips, Craisins, Almer’s Diced Tomatoes, Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing, Dad’s Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies, Boom-Chicka-Pop Kettle Corn, Brookside Acai Dark Chocolate, and the Something Special Gourmet Antipasto are all items I have bought on a regular basis!
Greetings…I appreciate your time and effort and look forward to your posting every week.
I’m looking at mattresses and wonder if you’re aware if and when they go on sale.
Hampton House Chicken Breast Strips are good. They are made from whole pieces of chicken as opposed to ground up meat that is reassembled. Breading is good and not too thick. In general, we like Hampton House products.
Ocean Spray “craisins” are now in a “new” package that says “new”.
As far as I can tell, it now says “WHOLE dried cranberries” instead of just “dried cranberries”.
The ingredients list of “cranberrie and sunflower oil” now includes “cane sugar” insead of just plain “sugar”.
I love this blog but sometimes get frustrated seeing the lower prices available in BC. As one example the Costco in Regina, SK has the same Sojag Sun Shelter for $1299 that’s $200 more. I just bought the wall mounted hose reel for $69.99 that’s $4 more. Just two example of many.
Karen, although these items may be more, last time I was in SK I noticed that you pay much less for necessities. Gas, bread, milk, eggs, all meats, grains, housing is at least 20-80% less than BC. What you save on housing and gas alone, offsets in your favour the price of a few toys that are more expensive. Even taking into account the difference of .39/hr wage higher here, your earn to spend ratio is one of the best in the country!
Most Costco locations in the lower mainland once again carry the red plastic gasoline jerry cans which you’ll need for your trip to Blaine or Bellingham to fill-up. Just so you know, they stand very tall and they might not fit in your trunk. Never have them sit on its side, it’s very dangerous.
I always fill what’s going in the tank seperately from what’s going in the jerry cans. The logic is what’s in the car’s tank is already “consumed”, while what’s in jerry cans could be traded. I’ve brought back 2x5Gal and the half size one back before and no questions. Just declare the total value along with brief description of anything else you’re carrying back. Gas/Groceries usually does it.
I can’t find the green earth castile soap. May I know which location was the pictures taken from?
TIA.
Regarding Kirkland co-branded JellyBelly Jelly Beans,
CND Costco has 1.1 kg bag for $.49 – 3.50 = $7.99 CAD, or $7.25/kg
USA Costco has 1.814 kg jar for $13.99- 4 = $9.99 USD, or $5.05 USD/kg or $7.16 CAD/kg (based on 1.30 exchange rate)

Hi! We love your blog and wait for it every week! I wanted to ask if you’ve tracked when mattresses go on sale?
How are those chicken strips?

Thank you so much for posting I wait to plan my weekly Costco shop around your blog
What is the price on the Lysol wipes 6-pack? The sign is for Ziploc freezer bags.
They are $3.40 off in the weekly flyer, so probably around $9-10.

Does this make you feel a bit better: gas is $1.54 in Vancouver
And gas is going to get higher in Vancouver if BC continues to fight Kinder Morgan! LOL
That could be Karen, but here in BC we pay more for just about everything else in life haha
As always
Good morning,
Thank you for your hard work every week. This week I have a lot to shop at Costco.
Thanks very much for posting the sale items. I’m waiting for the Q’ia cereal to go on sale.
I clicked on the ads for you.

Do you get any issues with border guards when you bring a few cans full of gas back? As long as you declare, should be ok?
I always fill what’s going in the tank seperately from what’s going in the jerry cans. The logic is what’s in the car’s tank is already “consumed”, while what’s in jerry cans could be traded. Its based on a dollar amount, but recently was told by a border guard its roughly the equivalent to 150 litres, including what you put in your tank.
Are the buffalo chicken strips on sale as well, or just the regular ones?
Just the regular ones
Thank you
