Costco West Sales Items for Oct 17-23 for BC, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan

There are quite few items that were help over from last week as well as many new sale items!

This week I loaded up on 3M Filtrete Ultra Furnace Filters – something I always forget to purchase until it is too late.  I already bought some Pyrene Plus Fire Extinguishers, Kiddie smoke alarms and Kiddie carbon monoxide alarms last week.  I purchased the Food Saver last year and have been quite happy with it.  I pull it out enough to justify the space it takes up on my cabinet (which is more that I can say about other appliances).

There is a Samsung Washer and Dryer on sale this week. I don’t have any reviews, but I have included the model number for you all to look it up.  If you do have any feedback on this product, please post it in the comments.  I’m sure people would like to hear your thoughts.

The sale on LED lights is not valid in Alberta, but I’ve heard reports that the sale is still valid in Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

There are lots of things this week that I was thinking of purchasing to give out at Halloween this year instead of the normal Nestle Favorites or Wrigley Starburst & Skittles (which are on sale this week).  You could give out some Sensible Portion Veggie Snacks, some Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Squares, Sun Rype Fruit to Go, General Mills Fruit by the Foot, or you could be a hero and buy some full-size Hershey’s Assorted Bars or some full-size Nestle Variety Packs. If you can get your act together this week. You might be able to add some variety into your treats this year.

One thing to keep in mind when reading this blog is that sales items in the meat and produce section are store dependent – the manager sets the sales for these items.  For that reason, the chicken sales that you see this week (and last) may not be available at your store.  Also, any items on the blog that end in ‘.97’ means the item is on a clearance.  These ‘.97’ items are also store dependent.  If you are interested in one of these products you can check with customer service to see if any of the items is available at a nearby store!  If you purchased the product previously and it has gone on sale, if you bring in the original receipt and you have purchased the product withing 30 days (or longer, depending on the employee), Costco will refund you the difference!

Use these posts to make the best use of your Costco Card! I have done all the hard work for you and have a weekly listings of all the Costco Sales Items and flyers. Costco does not publish these Costco sales items; the only way to find out what is on sale is to walk the whole store! Come back every Monday to find out what is on sale for the week. The sales may vary slightly by store, but are generally pretty consistent between Western Canada. If there is something you really want, please make sure to double check the expiry date as some of the Costco sales items have been known to end mid-week.

  1. I could not find the 1500 MPR furnace filters at Abbotsford Costco in BC. They only seem to have the 2200 MPR, and not on sale.

  2. FYI: that brand of sweet potato fries isn’t at NE Calgary Costco. It’s Russet House & they aren’t on sale. 9.69 for 2kg

  3. My wife is suggesting that maybe we give out the Kellogg’s Rice Krispie Squares from Costco for halloween. Does anyone know if the each piece in the box is labelled appropriately for handing out?

    • Robert, I checked the packages in my box of Rice Krispies and they are each individually labelled with ingredients and “nutrition” information. 🙂

    • When I was in Hawaii (Honolulu) a few years back, the LED bulbs were 90% off. This was sponsored by the electric company in Hawaii. I wish the local utilities would offer something close.

  4. We get so excited when your blog comes out each week. You do a fantastic job & we hope you know how grateful we all are. Thanks so much!

  5. I’m wondering if anyone knows if Costco is still carrying the big 3-packs of Olivieri tortellini?I’m seeing that new brand in the specials… is it comparable to Olivieri?

    • The Kirkland furnace filters at my Costco are 2200 MPR. I currently use 1900 and am wondering if it would be a problem to use the higher MPR? Does anyone know?

  6. The washer, dryer models are included in the massive Samsung recall. As long as (using the serial#’s) they were made after April, 2016 it will be OK. Knowing though how Costco purchases thru clearing houses, they well could be older models. Due diligence.

        • The model of the washer that is on sale IS on the recall list, but it is whether or not it was manufactured between March 2011 and April 2016 that determines whether or not it is actually recalled. I’m not sure what they could have really changed since April to fix the issue since it’s the entire top that flies apart when the machine “explodes” (google it to see some pictures/videos of the aftermath … scary).

Regardless, I have this washer and my biggest issue with it (other than the potential explosion risk) seems to be a common complaint about high efficient top loaders in that I don’t think it uses enough water to wash the load as most of the load isn’t even in the water. Despite Samsung’s claims that this is normal, I’ve had to rewash several loads because they weren’t adequately cleaned.

  7. Just a warning about those smoke alarms that are on sale this week. They’re the type that use ionization technology, which can take up to 19 minutes (yes, minutes!) longer than photoelectric alarms at detecting slow smoldering fires. Most people don’t die from flash fires in the kitchen, which is what ionization will detect, it’s the slow kind that gets you while you’re asleep.

Costco sells the photoelectric type online. They cost more but it is only a once every 10 years purchase.

There was a video during the Fort McMurray fire that showed a house burning from a security camera. What really stood out to me was that the house was fully engulfed before the smoke alarm went off. Basically useless if someone were to be in there.

  8. Again, the LED bulb price reductions are sponsored by BC Hydro and therefore only available in BC.

But I’ve got my eyes on several other things this week. Thanks a TON!

  9. Thank you so much! I love this site and it saves me so much time! I always make sure to click on some ads every time I visit.
