Recall Alert – Ritz Bitz sandwiches recalled for potential salmonella contamination

Hi Everyone,

Some lots of Ritz Bitz, have been recalled.  This is a National Recall.  I do not know if Costco sold any of the recalled product, it is very important that you do not consume this product.   If you have purchased this product lately (from Costco or otherwise) please go to the Official CFIA Recall page to find out if your lot has been affected.  Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections. Healthy people may experience short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Long-term complications may include severe arthritis.

Mondelēz Canada is recalling Christie brand Ritz Bits Sandwiches (cheese and pizza flavours) from the marketplace due to possible Salmonella contamination. Consumers should not consume the recalled products described below.

  1. From what I read, it was the ritz bits sandwiches that were recalled. We bought a box from Costco in Winnipeg that did fit within the lot expiry dates mentioned in the recall article I read. I will have to double check on this link though. Thanks for sharing.
