Buttery, soft and scrumptious!

Please note that this review was not paid for or sponsored by any third party. I purchased this product with my own money and the opinions in this review are strictly my own. I am not affiliated with Costco or any of its suppliers. I am just a fan of the company. I write these reviews to help my fellow shoppers.

Hi, it’s Natalie from the Costco food and product review fan blog Costcuisine! If you like my reviews for Costco food products, the best thing that you can do is follow me on Instagram or Facebook, and tell your friends about my blog Costcuisine, where I review a bunch of Costco food products every week!

I’m super excited to be posting this review for two reasons. One is that I love this product, and two is that I’m hosting a Costco Shop Card giveaway on both my Instagram and Facebook accounts! You can check out the posts on each of the accounts for more information, but all you have to do to enter is follow me on Instagram or like my Facebook page and tag two friends on the giveaway posts! For the Facebook one, you can share the post rather than tagging two friends if you prefer that option! There are two separate gift cards to give away (one for Facebook and one for Instagram), so if you enter on both Instagram and Facebook, that’s two chances to win! The full contest details are at the bottom of this review.

We’re delving into buttery goodness today because I’m reviewing the Monte Cristo Bakery Lemon Cranberry Scones! These were found in the bakery section at my Costco.

Monte Cristo Bakery Lemon Cranberry Scones

Taste

We have a pretty famous bakery in my city that sells delicious scones and as soon as my husband and I tried these Monte Cristo Bakery Lemon Cranberry Scones from Costco we both agreed that they were nearly as good as the famous bakery scones while being far cheaper. They’re soft, buttery, flavorful and just really delicious. The lemon flavor is definitely present but not overly strong and the cranberries add extra texture and tart sweetness. Although these are buttery enough I always love to add my own butter to scones, if butter is one of your top ten favorite foods like it is mine I definitely recommend slathering on some butter.

Monte Cristo Bakery Lemon Cranberry Scones Ingredients

Cost

You get 12 scones in the box and I paid $11.99 Canadian for the scones. Totally worth every penny. Scones at a bakery are about $3.75 each.

Monte Cristo Bakery Lemon Cranberry Scones Nutrition

Convenience

Each scone is individually wrapped so these are perfect to bring to work or school and also makes it easy for them to share with friends and loved ones! I gave a few to my parents to try. These can be enjoyed for breakfast, brunch, as a snack or even dessert. They also freeze really well!

My favorite way to enjoy a scone! Extra butter!

Nutrition

I highly recommend skipping past this part! If you must know…one scone is 390 calories, nine grams of fat, 20 grams of sugar, seven grams of protein, three grams of fibre, 54 grams of carbohydrates, and 410 mg of sodium. The ingredients list is all the things I’d expect to be in scones. These contain eggs, milk and wheat.

12 of these are going to last awhile in our house because I like to ration them out and save them for weekends, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy them again. They’d be perfect to offer someone coming over for tea or just to make your weekend brunch a bit tastier.

  1. Costco baked items with the exception of cookies and cakes are all awful. In contrast, the US Costco is the opposite. These scones also fall within the terrible and dry taste too. But seeing the comments, nobody agrees with me. lol.

  2. Liked the costcocuisine page on FB and sharing the FB page as tagging here doesn’t seem to work. Good luck all!

  3. I love scone. I am a big fan of Costco’s bakery. The idea of individual pack is brilliant because it is perfect to pack in the lunch kit. I love it.

  4. Bought 2 packs of these scones. One for a sisters weekend in Canmore and one for my family. They are delicious!! Love that they are individually packaged and we froze the ones we didn’t devour!! Easy to pop the frozen ones into the microwave. Definitely buying again!
