Some people have noticed that the blog has been slow to load or inaccessible on Tuesday Mornings. As a result, on Friday, we added another server to make sure that everyone can access the blog, even during peak times! For those curious, that makes eight load balanced servers running to make sure everyone gets their deals on Tuesday morning.
Product Search Update!
So it has taken quite a bit of back-end work on the blog, but we finally have a working product search. We are still working on the layout and the data entry, but this tool will allow you to look a the price sale history of your favorite product.
To try out the search just click on the search icon at the blue bar at the top of the page or using the search field in the main menu! We are making great progress! So far, we have entered 19,000 photos and we have about 47,000 photos left. We now have a full year of products and prices in the database! In the end the database will go back to 2014. Hopefully, this tool will make finding and anticipating product sales easy for everyone.

Just my 2 cents worth…I am not sure of the value of entering items into your search system from longer than 3 years past. Prices go up, stock changes constantly, seasonal items are brought in once never to be seen again. The work to create 7 years worth of data is staggering. I think 2 complete years is more than adequate for any search database.

On Mondays, I take photos of all of the sale items (when there is an endgame savings) clearance items (prices ending in .97) and any new items that I have not noticed in store before. Sometimes, I will include items that I know sell out quickly… like the pelican kids kayaks or bicycles.

muhammad, I don’t always go on mondays to shop. I am normally very frugal, But I pay for membership to thank him for the hours he spends to provide this service to everyone!
So if I go on a Tuesday I get notified same day as those who don’t pay for membership.
I love that I can just go to the site and screenshot everything I need and it saves me lots of time. I also realize what products I can price match ahead of time.
It think it’s well for $30 which is $2.50 a month which is a little more than $0.10 a day.

Another thing tho, I can’t reply using the Chrome browser on my iPhone. It’s my default browser but I have to copy the link and use safari, as when I hit submitq it tells me that I didn’t answer the reCAPTCHA correctly. There isn’t one to answer on both Chrome and Safari but the latter will still post, unlike Chrome.

Muhammad nothing in this world is free and your demand to be given the same entitlement as those who pay for this service is appalling. The paying members of this site are how the site owner is compensated for the enormous amount of work and time he puts into it. Ask yourself – what makes you equally entitled to the same early access as those who spend their hard earned money for such service. The fact that access to this site is free at all is a privilege, not a right. Your attitude is what is SO incredibly wrong with society!

muhammad, I don’t always go on mondays to shop. I am normally very frugal, But I pay for membership to thank him for the hours he spends to provide this service to everyone!
So if I go on a Tuesday I get notified same day as those who don’t pay for membership.
I love that I can just go to the site and screenshot everything I need and it saves me lots of time. I also realize what products I can price match ahead of time.
It think it’s well for $30 which is $2.50 a month which is a little more than $0.10 a day.
