Weekend Update – Costco Sale Items for Mar 27-29, 2020 for BC, AB, MB, SK

Location: Still Creek Burnaby, BC Costco Warehouse

SHOPPING REPORT:

Hi Everyone,

I went to the Costco at Still Creek in Burnaby BC today to pick up some more milk and vegetables.  I got to the store at 8:08AM and by then the line wrapped around the store 3/4 of the way around the whole store.  It was raining outside and I was surprised at the number of people who didn’t have umbrellas.  Go figure.  I didn’t see what time Costco opened its doors (My guess is around 8:15AM) because I was inside the store at 8:25AM.  They were handing hand sanitizer out at the front of the store with a limit of one per household.  Apparantly they hand Lysol Wipes (I saw some people with them in the carts), but I didn’t see any.  They seemed well stocked with many other items.  We should consider ourselves very lucky –  I just spoke to my friend in London, UK and he was saying that he had to go to four grocery stores to get everything on his shopping list for his family!

The entire stationary and office supply aisle was blocked off and that was where they were handing out toilet paper.  Every checkout is open and there are new glass shields to protect the cashiers.  There were a couple of employees with large signs reminding people to keep 6 feet away from each other while shopping and trying to break up people who were too close together.

There was lots of produce for sale today which was great for me since that was what I was there for.  Blackberries seemed incredible cheap!  Anyways, back to entertaining the kids…

Happy Shopping!

  1. Thank you so much for doing this! Also I noticed in alberta yesterday when I went that the salmon was actually $5 off here! Pretty crazy I can send you the photo I took.

  2. Hi, I noticed on the sale priced veggies that it says until Mar 27, however I thought sale prices were until each Sunday, so Mar 29. Please advise as we were going to go early Sunday morning. Thanks for everything as always!

  3. Normal hours start at 9AM but your photo says they are allowing people over 60 in at 8 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Is this all locations? Thanks again, I always review your site before going and make sure I let people know about it.

    • Yes, this is for all Costco locations in Canada except the business centre. Here is the information from the Costco Facebook Page:

      *REMINDER*
From 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning March 24, Costco will temporarily implement special operating hours for members who are 60 and older. The Pharmacy will also be open during this hour, however the Food Court will maintain its normal operating schedule.

These hours apply to all locations except the Business Centres, which will remain open during regular hours. View Costco Business Centre hours here:

  4. Has anyone seen the Shepard’s hook solar lights? I’m surprised to see they are out of stock already. I was going to sit tight for another month or two before buying them. Maybe they are out of stock due to the virus.

  5. Thank you for the posts.
Don’t worry about naysayers, people need to be responsible for their own behavior. If getting a product on sale means people go out more and risk their health, there is something seriously wrong with them.
Maybe your brother could share a photo of Bootsie to spread some joy.
Here is a link to the BC self assessment test that is very useful, thought you might want to post. It’s simple and quick…..

  6. Thank you for continuing during this pandemic! I think it helps the situation tremendously. We can make a list and just get what we need, no extra exposure while browsing and deciding.

  7. Nanaimo was the model of efficiency today. When we got there, there was a long line up but we were only in line for about 10 minutes. After getting in, we shopped as quickly as we could and although the check out line seemed long, it was due to distancing. Everything moved smoothly, lots of filled shelves. What I thought would be drudgery was worth it. Our family is good for another month. Thanks Costco and to you for highlighting what’s on sale. Stay safe everyone.
P.S. A young woman wiped down our cart handle before we grabbed it. Nice.

  8. Is it possible that the blackberries are so cheap is because they are all hand picked, so there is a chance that they may have virus on the berries? Maybe I’m over react but I don’t trust anyone now. I’m so anxious after watching Dr. Jeffery VanWingen’s video on YouTube. I wash my hand a hundred times a day. I want to sanitize my freezer. Hope everything will come back to normal ASAP.

    • I think that maybe there is less demand for them because of exactly what you said. People are too wary about buying unpackaged food, me included. Anyway, even if they were handpicked by people who possibly had Covid, the virus would have died by the time it gets to you. Don’t forget to also take care of your mental health through these hard times, I understand it’s tough. Cheers

  9. Has anyone seen any Lysol wipes in any of the stores recently? The Richmond store said that they haven’t had them in a few weeks and that they should be delivered soon. Thank you!
