Costco Flyer & Costco Sale Items for May 25-31, 2020, for BC, AB, SK, MB

Location: Still Creek Burnaby, BC Costco Warehouse

Hi Everyone,

There wasn’t any wait today at Still Creek Costco.  They also had Yeast, Nitrile gloves and Hydrogen Peroxide!

I really like the Ombrelle Sunscreen (that is on sale this week) for the kids and I’ve been using it on the sunny days.  The Kid’s Contigo water bottles with snack inserts are back in stock so I picked up a couple for my kids.  The Island City Baking Co. Sliced Sourdough Rounds looked great!  Tropicana Orange Juice

I’ve had a couple comments about the Monday posts coming out a bit later in the day lately.  Unfortunately, since our daycare closed down, I’m sharing parental duties with my wife who is also working full time.  I’m doing my best to get the posts up as early as possible, but I can’t start editing until my son goes down for his nap at 1:00PM.  Once my kids are back in daycare, I’ll have the posts back up nice and early in the day.  Thanks for your understanding!

Also, I haven’t been posting the nutritional ingredients on the food items.  To get the nutritional information, I have to move the boxes around and at this time, I don’t think it is appropriate to touch boxes if I’m not purchasing the item.  When things are safe again, I’ll be including this information again.

  1. ** Webber Naturals Lactase Enzyme **
For those who are lactose intolerant, Webber Naturals Lactase Enzyme is on sale.
Normally it’s on sale once a year in February which it was, but it looks like there’s a second chance this week in May. It does not appear on the paper advert so YMMV by store.
The tablet size is still the same at 9000 FCC units each, but the bottle now contains 140 capsules, up from 120 before 2018. Accordingly, the bottle price is up, but the unit price per capsule is down slightly, to 11.42 cents each.
Hot summer days are coming, so I scream, you scream, we can all scream for ice cream !!

  2. Thanks as always! Just wanted to ask if you happen to see the cookina silicone grilling mat in store. Thanks again.

  3. The sale items seem to be getting worse every week and the meat and staples are getting so much more. Its come to the point that I wont shop at costco anymore I just dont see the savings on meat anymore.

  4. Thank you so much for this blog, it is so very helpful!
Must take an incredible ant of time, there show be a way that Costco compensates you for your efforts. If they don’t want to pay you, they should “comp” you some groceries or otherwise offer you something. Think I’ll drop them a suggestion to that effect when next I am there.
    Again, many thanks!

  5. Hi, I just wanted to say “Thank you so much” for all your hard work in keeping this blog going, especially during COVID, especially with elderly parents, especially with 2 small kids, and especially with a very understanding wife! Don’t you worry about the other people who are posting negative comments. If they don’t like it, can’t access it, no nutritional value shown, then they should just go into Costco themselves every week and walk up and down each aisle.

You’re doing this every week without fail AND you go twice a week (Thursday’s post, which you didn’t have to add), and your brother covers for you when you go on vacation. I agree with one of the poster’s above: you’re doing this for FREE!!

    So, thank you again. ❤️

  6. Thank you again for these posts – I find them very useful. Just a quick note about the sunscreen: I used to use Ombrelle diligently until my dermatologist showed me that (in the whatever ridiculous SPF I was using – SPF 60 or 100 I think) the active ingredients were less than 20%. I couldn’t understand why I was constantly feeling a bit crispy. I was advised not to bother with any sunscreen, no matter the SPF advertised (apparently not regulated in Canada) below that. Thanks again for your work, it is a great help!

  7. Thanks, as always for all of your hard work, particularly during this challenging time! I really appreciate your posts every time!!

  8. Thanks For the updates, appreciate it. Not sure on the comment that your not including the ingredients because you do not want to touch the boxes if not purchasing the item? So it’s ok if all your followers now touch the box to see the ingredients vs 1 person? I touch items without gloves and check ingredients, if items are spoiled and if goods are damaged, sorry that shopping.

    • What exactly do you appreciate Dyron? He is not being paid by you or Costco to handle items and post pictures of nutrional info during a pandemic. So check your privilege, quit whining, and appreciate the time and effort he makes to make any information available. Not satisfied, go search the manufacturer’s website for more information.

      • Wow!! before you make a judgement call maybe read into what the person was actually saying.

I am totally appreciative of what he does and the extra work that goes into the making this available to everyone every week. It is very handy knowing what is extra on sale, new products etc.. It saves everyone a lot of time prior to going to Costco and I Thank You!!
I also have no issue with him not providing the extra Nutritional/Ingredients picture because of his concerns, that is his choice and right. The reason was not clearly stated at the top and when you can save a number of people from having to touch a product vs 1 person is all I was getting at, but maybe you (the person who knows what appreciation actually means) don’t understand? If you want to be really paranoid think about how many people actually touch that product prior to you buying it now that he is not taking those extra pictures if you want to worry??

    • Hi Dyron, just to clarify, each time I touch a product increases the chance that I can catch Covid-19 or spread it unknowingly. I’m all for helping out for the greater good (which is why I have been doing this for 10 years), but I have two small kids at home and elderly parents and in-laws. I’m just looking out for my family. Also, my wife said I had to stop – so there is that 🙂

      • I want to first say I am very appreciative of your time and effort each week, numerous trips to get us this information. We are fortunate to have your dedication that saves us time. With your family situation I am surprised you are still doing this for everyone as it is not worth the risk that it presents every time you goto Costco. Kudos to you for the willingness to continue to do this every week for Free!!! Take Care 🙂

      • You need to do whatever is necessary to best protect your family.
        Happy wife, happy life.
Thank you for all the information you provide on specials and new products as I am not able to shop in person. It helps me make a shopping list if my husband is able to go. The crowds have been a bit much in Edmonton and he hasn’t been willing to risk it recently but I hope the will get in soon and stock up on some needed items.
I need cheese!!! Salsa!! Artichoke dip!!!

  9. I notice the 2 person limit was removed from the Costco website. Does that mean more than 2 people on the same card can enter the store now??

  10. Hi thanks for you efforts again.
First of all, I am sorry that people are a little harsh, because they have to wait for the phones. You just keep on doing what you are doing… Also For myself, I have had zero problems with my Android OS and always use Chrome to view on desktop of laptop. Never an issue with either.

    Keep up the good work

  11. Thank you, doing an amazing job. Can I return isopropyl alcohol 99%? I thought I was buying spray. Sharon

  12. Thank you for all of the TIME & EFFORT you put into this blog for FREEEE!!! I’ve clicked on a bunch of ads for you!

  13. I just wanted to say thank you as well. Balancing everything during these Covid days can be challenging and I know how much time it takes to edit photos especially when trying to manage your family too. I appreciate all your work. It’s very helpful. I hope you have a good day!

  14. Just wondering if there was a sign about mandatory masks at Costco? Apparently here in Calgary masks are mandatory as of today (for customers).

    • From Costco web site:
      Face Mask Requirement
“Public health experts recommend the use of masks or face coverings in public settings. To protect our members and employees, it is recommended that all Costco members and guests wear a mask or face covering that covers the mouth and nose, at all times while on Costco premises. This recommendation does not apply to children under the age of 2 or to individuals who are unable to wear a mask or face covering due to a medical condition. ”

Note that Costco Canada says “recommended” not “mandatory”. Maybe recheck with local Calgary Costco to see if people are misunderstanding what they are posting there.

    • Im from Calgary and its not mandatory. Beacon Hill I just walked in no mask and not one worker stopped me. Okotoks, they are HANDING them out if you want one but you dont have to take it if you dont want it. Its recommended, not mandatory.

  15. Only use Chrome if you enjoy Google viewing everything you ever look at online.

FIREFOX and/or TOR browser are the only way to go. Keep a little bit of privacy.

I enjoy getting these due to the fact that my local Costco (Calgary Chinook) rarely ever puts up the weekly sale signs. They’re too lazy at that store.

I check the prices here, get what I need, and 90% of the time they are actually on sale. The other 10% I tell them at the cash register that I don’t want it. Then they get to restock it. Should have put up the sale signs instead.

  16. Just a note of appreciation for the blog and the time it must take to put it all together, making my life, and that of others much easier. By the way, no problem with my Samsung Galaxy 10e phone!

  17. On Chrome, whenever you reach a spot where the photos don’t load, move your mouse to the top of the screen where the tab is. I find the pictures load instantly every time I do that.

  18. Sorry you got flack about timing of your posts, your work is valued and don’t let some demanding people who have nothing else to worry about ruin your day. I look forward to your posts, whenever they come. Do people realize they get this service FREE. Good job, well done. Thanks for your efforts

  19. I’ve been following this blog for just over a year now.. and wanted to know just how much money it would save to buy things only on sale (except for staple items)… we’re a big family with small children. so we tallied it all up and saved $873.10 !!!!!!!!!! Seriously, thank you for all you do SOOO appreciated.

  20. Thank you so much for doing this 🙂 it certainly helps when planning a costco trip!

Btw, not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet, but if you’re using an android phone and come across a blank space where pics should be, if you tap in that space, then tap back, the surrounding pics load. Not the real fix, but at least something to help in the meantime.

  21. Hi there! I am thinking of buying their Napoleon bbq online and wondering if they ever have sales on the before it is end of season? Thanks!!

    • I have seen Napoleon BBQs on sale. And if it isn’t on sale, and you really want it … buy it anyways! If it goes on sale, take your receipt to a Costco store — they’ll refund you the difference. They are “the bomb” when it comes to this. Note there are SOME limitations on refunds when it comes to “manufacturer’s” sales, vs Costco sales, but, personally, I’ve never had an issue. Even without a receipt, they just look up my purchase through my membership card, and have refunded me the difference.

  22. I use Chrome and a laptop to view these posts. I discovered by accident a way to load the pictures! I don’t know if it will help everyone, but I have a touch screen and I simply tap on the screen and the pictures load! I have to do it every time I scroll down, but it works! Hopefully you will get the problem fixed soon, but this is a work around for now. Love your posts!

    • Nice! Works for me too – thanks! For other people trying this…tap somewhere on the right or left side of the screen so you don’t end up tapping on an image and loading one image in place of the web site.

  23. I have a workaround for viewing the pictures on my desktop with Chrome browser. Originally, as I scrolled down, some of the pictures were missing or some would take a long time to load. I changed my Chrome browser window to be less than full screen (made it so that it only showed 2-3 images at a time). This made a noticeable difference and all images would load (some with a slight 1 second delay).

I found this workaround by reading this article. Doesn’t seem like cocowest.ca issue is with the size of the picture being zero. But, it does seem to have something to do with lazyloading of images.
    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/13535597/lazyload-images-not-appearing-until-after-a-scroll

  24. Thanks for your postings. Please add Canadian CDC’s recommendation to wear a mask to protect others when physical distancing is not possible to your COVID information.

    • Thanks for the blog. I am on Android and just slide up and down and pics appear. Seems to be worse just below an ad if that helps. In Canada iOS is about 53% globally iOS about 22%. As a matter of interest yesterday morning Costco Regina was asking for people to wear masks voluntarily and providing one if you wanted one. We were at the senior hour so most were wearing anyway. I think they may be going to make compulsory here soon.

  25. Always works fine on my android device when I view in Firefox! If I start up in Facebook, I just click the three dots on the top right and select Open In Firefox and it works perfectly 🙂

  26. I find if I open in chrome and tap where I know the picture is it opens the single image, I then hit to go back and the next proceeding photos appear, just keep doing this as needed, it’s not great, but I saw all the photos this week so works for me. I appreciate the post regardless

  27. I found that if I just hold my finger on the space that is blank, the picture shows up and I can scroll for a bit and then get a blank space again, but just hold my finger on it again and it shows up again. Pretty easy to do so we can still see it on the Android phone until the glitch can be fixed. Thanks for this site, it’s great!

  28. I’m on an Android phone and i find if i try to access your site by clicking on the Facebook link it won’t load the photos. If i go directly to the site first then click on the post everything works perfectly. Thought I would share in case it helps you resolve the issue.

  29. It is always such a joy to check out the sales early and plan the weekly shopping in the comfort of home, especially now! No worries about the timing: it is not the end of the world, and we all have to make adjustments during these times! Monday or not, a lot of us appreciate your effort and wish you and your family safety while you still dedicate your effort to our benefit!

  30. Thank you for everything you are doing! It is disappointing that people would complain about the time of postings. We all have enough to worry about and am certain they can wait. I always appreciated your blog before and especially now as it helps to get in and out of the store. The fact that you go all the time shows your dedication to your site and it’s something we should all appreciate more.

  31. Although I do occasionally rely on the nutritional information, it’s a wise decision to skip it for the time being and avoid unnecessary handling!

    • I totally agree…I read the nutritional value…and really appreciate when they are shown…but understand wholeheartedly, it’s not reasonable at this time.

  32. The early bird gets the worm…
This appears to be Costco’s motto these days. We arrived at the Willingdon location (it says Willingdon Costco on the receipt) in the early afternoon. We waited in line for about 22 minutes. They had zero yeast, zero rubbing alcohol, no masks and zero peroxide. They had a lot of bleach and toilet paper. Re-stockers were busy restocking empty shelves with neighbouring items to make it seem like items weren’t sold out. The check-out line was HUGE. It extended to the back of the store very close to the meat section.

  33. I appreciate your posts no matter what time they are put up. These are difficult times with the virus and you have been doing a wonderful job. Your children come first too. Thank you so much for all you do.

  34. A minor point of contention here, but there’s no such place called “Still Creek Costco”. It’s factually inaccurate to refer to the main Burnaby Costco as “Still Creek Costco”. The formal, proper and common name of the largest Costco in Canada is “Willingdon Costco”.

  35. Hi Coco West, thank you thank you thank you for your posts even during the pandemic! I appreciate all your effort, no matter what day or time your posts come out. It’s so amazing that you’ve been able to keep this blog going so I really want to recognize you and the time put into this. Keep up the great work for as long as you can!

  36. Thank you. It’s great knowing what’s on sale so we can plan our trip accordingly. Take care of yourself and your family.

  37. To the point Chrome is by far the most popular browser (Microsoft even gave in and started using it for the core of Edge) and Android is the most popular phone, hopefully you will be able to resolve this problem soon : )

    • David, Android hasn’t been a popular phone for years in Canada, North America, Taiwan, Australia, Japan etc. Look around you, hardly anyone uses an Android phone. You’re right about the Chrome desktop though. It and Firefox dominate over Edge,

      • Rene, where do you get your facts from? The split in Canada was 53/47 for iOS as of august last year. Similar split in the states.

        • Hi Mr. Jackman: I’m with Rene. I don’t need skewed statistics or alternative facts to make me believe an iPhone isn’t prevalent here. The volume and selection of accessories alone are indicative of how popular an iPhone is. In my observations, I would say the masses buy the iPhone over Android by at least 5:1. If you’re referring to the business and corporate world, including the government, I can see where Android has the advantage with so many different lower priced models and variations for non personal use. Anyway, let’s keep on topic about Costco ‘k? Oh, I have both an iPhone and a Samsung S20, an Android phone 😉

          • Prevalence accessories only are indicative of the prevalence for a user to accessorize. Also, given iPhones have a fixed form factor and a limited number of devices it is easier to manufacture accessories for them, meaning the market could have more simply because it’s cheaper to make and pump out products for the phone since you don’t have to support a diverse array.

        • If you go by gross unit sales, then Android is certainly closer to iOS. If you go by actual visitors and usage statistics, it’s not even close. iOS dominates the mobile internet traffic in North America. This includes iPads obviously, which outside of cheap business use, is really the only real tablet option in multiple price ranges.

    • I’ve never owned an iPhone and likely never will. I also hope the issue is resolved soon. It’s slow loading the pictures but eventually does when I click on the blank picture and return to the page. Fortunately, Android has a back button. As for comparison of device owners in Canada, this site says as of 2019 it’s tied https://deviceatlas.com/blog/android-v-ios-market-share#canada
I think servicing both is would be fair.
Thank you very much for your site. A great service to us Costco shoppers.

      • I found that disabling javascript is a quick fix ; ) although I have not attempted such on my phone. And repeating that thanks, a great service indeed!
