Costco Winter Aisle 2020 Superpost! Books & DVDs

Location: Langley, BC Costco Warehouse

Hi Everyone,

NOTE: For the next little while, I’ll be replacing my usual seasonal aisle posts with the Book section to encourage social distancing!

I’ve been taking pictures of the books section a couple of weeks in a row for friends.  Book, DVDs, Netflix and Disney plus are some great safe social distancing activities!  For all those parents who have small children, I wish you all the best!  It has been a struggle to keep the house clean as well preventing the two children from getting on each other’s nerves.  Usually, we have lots of activities planned to keep them busy, but with everything closed (even playgrounds) and play dates forbidden it is definitely a struggle to get through the day, especially when we supposed to be quiet in the house when mom is on a teleconference!

The kids are doing much more sitting and watching TV, than I would normally let them, but they are still having lots of fun being at home every day!

I picked up a couple of Dry-Erase books for my older daughter in preschool to help her with her letters and writing skills and she seems to enjoy doing these.

I hope everyone is staying well!

  1. I agree with Crystal. Thank you so much. I too am at home with my children and like how you posted the book and activity section of Costco. I enjoy reading your blog too. I live 1 hour from Costco and only have ever gone into town when it was a necessity ..so nothing has changed much for our family during this pandemic.

  2. No curriculum books & very few activity books at Kelowna location a couple of days ago. I never noticed before how small this section is here! Maybe they sold out fast.
If anyone sees some, please let me know (for a friend with 10 & 12 year olds).

  3. Thank you for still keeping us informed !!! People still need to buy and this virus will go on for quite a while. You make our trips in and out of the store a whole lot faster. It keeps us informed what Costco had brought in on more Supply !

  4. I myself, am staying far away, however, for those who choose to venture out (usually for necessity) this post actually does help. Instead of 30 people all looking through this section to find a book/movie – touching everything, you can be much quicker as you know what is all ‘available’ prior, making your time in the store that much less.

  5. Thank you for posting. My Wife and I always like to check your post before shopping at Costco as it saves us time.
Also as parents it’s hard to keep the kids entertained in this difficult time. The books, and DVD section I usually wander through, but now having you post will save me this time as I can now just grab a few item I was thinking about for my kids to read and watch.
Love your blog! Keep posting! Stay safe and positive!

  6. I think your blog is great! By all means stop if you are putting yourself at risk, then it is not worth it, otherwise I believe you are in fact helping people stay home. Rather than go to Costco looking for stuff, many are now able to see what is on sale and deciding if a trip is necessary. Keep up the excellent work! Stay safe!

  7. People who are giving this blogger a hard time need to stop and be realistic. People need groceries. They’re going to go to Costco regardless. This blog isn’t encouraging us to shop. It allows people like myself to determine whether or not Costco is worth going to based on the items they have on sale that particular week. As for the books and DVDs, we need entertainment while confined to our homes. We’re not cats who can just stare at walls. Again, I use the photos provided to see if I should skip the entire book section when I go to Costco to reduce my time outside the home. If you don’t like the blog, then don’t look.

  8. I appreciate all you do and I will continue to shop at Costco once every couple of weeks. I am lucky that I am over 60 so I can go in the early mornings. I sure feel for you trying to entertain the kids, must be super tough! Thank you again for such a great job!

  9. I don’t think that you going to Costco and taking pictures during this pandemic is providing an essential service. Surly people can wait. These posts could encourage people to go shop when we should all be staying home.

    • Completely agre. Stay home and encourage others to do the same. Right now you are encouraging them to go to Costco to buy books.
Maybe switch your blog to Costco online for the time being. You can find cool deals online… I’m sure they have books online and such.
