Hi Everyone!
I hope you are all having a good week! If you are looking for costumes, there is a limited number on clearance right now. I picked up a Spiderman costume for my son for $9.99. I also noticed that they started carrying Olivia’s Cake Pops – does anyone have any reviews?
I also picked up some Oriental Style Chicken Chow Mein. My kids normally like anything with noodles so we will see how this goes. There are also some new flavours of Bubly Sparkling Water.
We’re actually moving to a new house the day before Halloween, so the next couple of weeks are going to be really busy for us! Wish us luck!
Hi, just went to the store and the kids’ weighted blankets are not on sale. I can’t make out the date on the sign in the photo, but just letting people know that was my experience.
Ohh this is a fabulous opportunity to see whats on sale before I drive the 50 kms into Costco and can actually plan my shopping days by whats on sale. I’m a die hard Costco shopper and have been for years.

A piece of advice from someone whose been on the web since before there was a web: Delete troll comments. If you can’t delete the troll comments, then just ignore them, or at least def don’t provide detailed replies to them; it validates their crazy. Responding is like feeding. There’s a video circulating of a NZ deputy minister who completely shuts down a anti-covid troll asking a flat-earth type question during a public town forum. The president of BC Ferries did something similar recently. We all need to learn from that.
Thanks for all your work. Kevin Shaw can suck it. I go almost every week to Costco because of your blog. Before hearing of this blog I would go maybe once a month. I’ve spent almost $6000 since February. (almost have next year’s membership paid for in 2% cash back already). Without going weekly I would probably spend $200-$400 a month there. So like others have said, while not endorsed by Costco, they are DEFINITELY making more money b/c of it!
Has anyone seen where the Cosequin dog supplements are kept? I went to look around pharmacy and the pet aisle and couldn’t find it in either spots. The stockers/pharmacists in Richmond said they had never seen this product before. Perhaps it’s location specific as well? Thanks for all the hard work that is put into these weekly product updates.

Reply re: Tim & Masks. You can return the remaining masks to Costco for a full refund. You shouldn’t have to be stuck with them if they are breaking. Perhaps a faulty batch?
Costco will even give refunds without the original receipt. Good luck!

Win, you are right, i just looked on the weekend post and saw it there, wonder why he didn’t bring that to my attention when i posted my comment on this post, busy I guess. Bought a small tube of Gorilla glue and applied it to the remaining masks and so far it has worked, none have broken yet..unfortunately I had already thrown away 25 of the 27 that had broke but the two i repaired are good as new.
Thank you, I check out cocowest blog each week. With Covid precautions, my trips to Costco are being reduced with better planning and stocking up on sales. Your efforts are appreciated by a lot of people even if we forget to say thank you sometimes.
I’m not exactly sure what Kevin Shaw’s main complaint is. It can’t be that Tynan is taking photos because that would be silly, so his main complaint must be that Tynan is touching the products without buying them, which Tynan says he isn’t doing. But what about the people who touched it before Tynan? Or after? Should they all be banned? Should Costco employees be on the lookout for customers who are browsing and are too touchy (is one touch too many, or two, or what number)? Should they require all customers to wear hazmat suits? Should they even allow in-person shopping? Just what would satisfy Kevin and the people who think like this?
Look, I’m not trying to downplay the risk. I’m just saying, if you’re going to do in-person shopping, you are tacitly accepting a certain amount of risk. If you want to ban someone, then ban me, because I fully acknowledge that I’ve picked up products and haven’t bought them (although I’m mindful of it and don’t do it unnecessarily). Who here hasn’t done this? I would wager even Kevin has done this. This is the real world, and if you idealistically think that people should never touch anything and all stores should somehow enforce a no-touch policy, then stay home and wait for this world to become more to your liking (good luck with that).
The underlying problem here isn’t that other people may contaminate surfaces; the real problem is that people have a hard time learning not to touch their own eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands. It’s certainly much easier to shame others for supposedly acting irresponsibly than taking some personal responsibility for your own well-being.

I don’t care if he makes a little bit of money on the side, he still help a lot of people planning their trip to Costco and lessen the time otherwise needed in the store.

Oh Kevin, please be sure to tell management that I joined Costco about two months ago largely because I had been reviewing the sales on this blog. Also mention I’ve gone to the store 3 times more often than I thought I would because of the deals I see here.

Thank you very much for everything you do. It helps our family so much and we have occasionally returned things purchased at regular price when they go on sale. I try to keep my recent receipts in my purse, to make it easier. The costco staff can look your receipt up if you forget it or lose it. Best wishes for the move.

Wow! I have never noticed a sign in my Costco that you could not photograph an item. I am pretty sure that Costco would not revoke his membership as he provides a service whereby more people are going in and shopping and MAKING THEM MONEY by posting a free blog. Your warning sounds like a threat that I am sure if Langley Costco or Costco.ca was aware would actually revoke the membership of Kevin Shaw. Just WOW! Being mobility challenged I appreciate this service more than I can say.

Maybe you should have paid more attention to the way that CocoWest takes pictures and only touches what he buys, before complaining to management. Due to Covid, most of us appreciate CocoWest’s posts more than even. Our trip into Costco is much more time efficient by not mulling about, we can get in, pick up what we need and get out. I have warned you before not to come to Langley. I was there when you were taking your pictures and touching the products.
I’ve taken pictures of you doing this and spoke with management. They are aware of you and will be investigating and looking to revoke your membership.
I’m not sure what you have against me? If you were following me I’m sure you would have noticed that I wore a mask the entire time and I didn’t touch any product that I didn’t purchase. I’m not sure how I am offending you any more than a normal Costco shopper.

I’m sure you take in a very comfortable living in ads and hits with such a high volume site. Why charge more for your membership is my question.

The posts for this blog had previously always been published late on Monday evening (after my work) and I thought some people might like the option of receiving the posts so they could complete their shopping (or just browse the deals by Monday afternoon.
You may have noticed that each photo now comes with a caption and watermark (this is not done manually) – this is part of the upgrade that will later include a product search, sale notifications before (and after purchases), an improved newsletter and a blog redesign to improve navigation. Without the subscription I wouldn’t have the resources to implement any of these upgrades.
I also think you are over-estimating the income provided by pay per click advertisements on the internet.

Oh I’m so happy that Costco has sunlight dish soap again. It’s the only dish soap that can be used in our house that doesn’t inflame my allergies, We’ve tried others and the scents are way too strong.
When items go on sale, Costco will honour the sale price. You generally have up to 30 days. The product has to be on sale at the store and must be in stock. Just take the receipt (product not needed) and they will give you a refund!

@Dorin: Same! It looks like the Kewpie Deep Roasted Sesame Dressing only shows up in April-May. It was the same last year and the year before that.
The Ground beef is not on sale in Edmonton Alberta.

Oh I’m so happy that Costco has sunlight dish soap again. It’s the only dish soap that can be used in our house that doesn’t inflame my allergies, We’ve tried others and the scents are way too strong.
It is the first time I have seen Sunlight in a while.
What’s a coupon return?
When items go on sale, Costco will honour the sale price. You generally have up to 30 days. The product has to be on sale at the store and must be in stock. Just take the receipt (product not needed) and they will give you a refund!

I just signed up for early access and I’m not getting early access email notification of the weekly sale. I get the super posts and the weekend updates early, but not the one I’m after. Is there somewhere I need to subscribe to it specifically?
Hi Laurie, can you check your SPAM folder? Sometimes the emails get sent there by automatic mail filters. All early access members are automatically signed up.
