Location: Willingdon, Burnaby, BC Costco Warehouse

Hungry Buddha Keto Bars Contest Winner & Sale Announcement!

Thanks to Buddha Brands who are once again sponsoring today’s weekend update post! If you are a fan of Hungry Buddha Keto Bars (like we are) you will be happy to know that for the next two weeks (June 22 – July 5), Hungry Buddha Keto Bars will be on sale with a $5.00 discount at Western Costco Warehouses! Congratulations to all the winners of last week’s contest. You can check to see if you were a winner on their Facebook page and/or their Instagram page.

I love anything coconut, so my favorite is the Coconut Flavour, but my wife likes the Chocolate Chip. I have a peanut allergy and appreciate that these bars are nut-free while still containing 9g of protein! These bars are vegan, have only 1-2 g of sugar, contain 9g of plant protein and contain MCT oil and sunflower seed protein. They tasted good and I found they make a really sustaining mid-day snack – I didn’t miss the junky stuff that’s in my usual grab-and-go granola bar.

Android / Chrome User Problems Fixed!

Thanks to everyone for their patience while I sorted out the technical difficulties.  Android / Chrome Users should find that the photos load properly now.  Unfortunately, the problem was well beyond my troubleshooting skills, but the developer who has been working on the redevelopment of the website was able to solve the problem.

Speaking of redevelopment, we are also well on our way into our project (the search functionality just about complete) and we are tentatively aiming to launch in September!  I’ll keep you updated on the process 🙂

If you are planning on camping and expect that there will be mosquitoes, some Costco locations are carrying Watkins 20% Icardin Spray.  Icardin is what our family used to keep the mosquitoes away during our trip to SE Asua.  We liked that it didn’t smell like normal DEET repellents.  Apple / Galaxy / Citizen / Bulova watches and iPads are on sale this week as well so make sure you grab one if you are interested (Maybe a father’s day gift?)

Sign up for the Early Access Membership with the FOUNDERS Discount!

I wanted to give everyone an update on the redesign of the blog since there has been quite a lot of progress!  We’ve hired our developer & designer and have started work on the project.  We are starting work on the new product search functionality, so you will be able to look up historical pricing and sales.  After that we will be working on the redesign of the blog.  Our goal is to get everything implemented in three months.  I’m excited that this project is finally moving ahead and to see some increased functionality and navigability in the new format.

That being said, if you are looking to help me help support this new website upgrade, I have re-opened the “FOUNDERS” discount for the Early Access to the blog.  The Early Access gives you access to the Monday posts on Monday afternoon instead of Tuesday Morning at a cost of $19.97 for one year (52 weeks).  You will also have the option of signing up for a new customizable mailing list so you can choose to the updates you want.  If you decide to purchase an Early Access Membership and use the discount code “FOUNDERS” before 2020-08-31, you will get $10 off your annual membership AND have that rate grandfathered forever!

Sign up for Early Access at the following link:  https://cocowest.ca/register/

Once you have signed up, to get the early pictures, just use your username and password at the following login: http://cocowest.ca/cocologin  When you are signed in, you will be able to see the pictures as soon as they are published on Monday!

If you don’t sign up for Early Access, no problem!  The blog is still free and will be available to everyone on Tuesday Morning at 5:00AM Pacific time.

  1. Thanks so much for your work and your posts! I recognize that this is quite time consuming! I have a quick question – you posted the Excalibur 5 tray dehyrator earlier this week from your visit to the Langley store. Do you know if they have it at the Willingdon location – or any other location you may have visited closer to Vancouver? Thanks!!

  2. Thank you as always keeping us updated. I always check out your site before shopping Costco so I can plan my trip.

  3. Help today, June 30. I’m having trouble seeing the sales for this weekend. The pics show quickly for the Monday/weekly ( thank you), but when I go to the sales for the weekend nothing comes up. Your comments about winners of the bars, notes about the fixing if picture loading.
I’m doing the same thing I’ve done since joining in BC , and ON. Help?! Thanks

  4. Hi…Just wanted to warn people about Montana’s ribs bought recently at my Manitoba Costco. There are 2 racks fully cooked in a cryovac package sold in a box in the refrigerated section. They are the WORST! I served them to company and we could only eat a couple before deciding to trash them. I was able to get a refund but want to give everyone a heads up not to buy these..

    Thanks for the great blog

    • @Helene Pastula, we used to know some people who used to do that. They’d invite guests over but the guests were actually guinea pigs for the food or dishes they made. The hosts never ate the food themselves before serving it. I don’t understand that mindset.

Oh, I feel any chemical mosquito retardant should be avoided if at all possible, especially on children despite it being “technically” safe like Deet. In (SE Asian) countries eucalyptus and lemongrass oil formulations are a natural mosquito repellant which typically is sold in pharmacies or chain stores.

      I’m glad to see your developer f i n a l l y solved the mystery 😉

      • Thanks for the review of the ribs Helene. You saved me some money as I had looked at them and thought about trying them. I don’t really care about the “mindset” or whatever Lana is referring to.

And since I won’t be visiting any SE Asian pharmacies or chain stores in the near future, I will pick up some of the Watkins mosquito spray as recommended. The mosquitoes were out on the golf course in Langley this weekend already.

Thanks for all your work on this blog!
